Looks a little bit off the pace at moment. It will come back though with more game time

This really isn't true. Were you there out of interest? His movement was completely different and he was about 1 inch from getting on the end of the only good ball put into the box all game, by Kelly.

Allen’s cross wasn’t good?

Completely fair point. Did very well to even get on it let alone put it into the area he did. Think because it was the far end I hadn’t realised quite how good it was until I saw it on the highlights.

Really important game to start to regain momentum in the league and nip any negativity in the bud.

He HAS to go for an attacking league and subsequently allow them to play football. I’d go:

Marosi
Rose McFadzean Hyam
Dabo Kelly Walsh Mason
Allen
Biamou Bakayoko

Wilson
McCallum
Westbrooke
Hiwula
Kasteener
O’Hare
Godden

Not convinced Allen is suited to an out and out 10 position, but the only one we do have - O’Hare - has struggled to make an impact the last few games he’s started.

Potentially harsh on Westbrooke (and to a lesser extent Shipley) to have Walsh ahead of them both, but in my mind he’s simply the better footballer.

I’m part of the exclusive non-hating Bakayoko group, and think he’ll have a good game if part of a two (as I’ve mentioned before - any striker would).

I’ll be genuinely gutted if we set out with 4-3-3 or any variation of it.

2-0, Bakayoko, Allen.

Think this is more likely with Walsh and Kelly protecting the back three.
Max up top with O'Hare in the number 10 slot. Though this could be Hiwula.
Godden not fit enough for 90 minutes yet. Sorry Baka should not be ahead of Hiwula or O'Hare if there is a choice.
Sense our biggest win of the season as anger from Shrewsbury kicks in.
Can't deny Shipley at the moment but he tends to be a 60 minute man.

4--0

Will be nice when JJ can be on here but don't rush him back, after 2 years out a few more games don't matter.

Kelly Shipley more advanced to try and stop us sitting so deep but they can always drop deep if needed.

In this formation O’Hare covers Allen when he tires, Walsh for Kelly and Westbrooke for Shipley.

All depends on how the game is going but options to change formation and players without weakening the team.

Also Biamou Bakayoko can swap sides to keep the defenders guessing, whilst Allen and Shipley push forward more to support them and close in on the gaps created.

Playing Shipley for Walsh as he has a better goal threat and as being pushed further forward still has a chance to play his game.

Keeping O’Hare as an impact sub as that is when he seems to play best.

Let the opposition worry about us and lets push forward and go for goals, whilst having the option to change formation and protect the lead if we have to for the last few mins if they have got on top.

McFadzean has been one of the better players of late, seems like a pointless change for somebody who won't be fit

He's more mobile than McFazden who has cost us more goals by his mistakes and penalty this season than any other player

Pask has only played 45 minutes of an U23 game
He looked good but match fitness takes some time to build
No way he'll be ready to start for the first team until the new year

I think he will go with this formation, but I think formation is better when we are defending against big hoofers and or big strikers (ie we will defo play 3 big centre backs next time we play Rotherham and or possibly Wycombe).

Im not so sure this is the same hoofing Lincoln team of 2 years ago (matt Rhead) team.

So I would go with 4 at the back and give the same team as last week another go, as it when it works ie at Ipswich away it works a treat. only change to consider Ohare/Zain

TBH for me its horses for courses gotta look at oppo before you decide. The beauty is Robins can change it now at any time like he has done vs Fleetwood and Ipswich.

Marosi
Dabo, McFad, Rose, McCallum
Kelly, Walsh
Zain , Allen, Shipley
Biamou

Theres plenty of goals in our midfielders this season, would give this team a go knowing we can change it any time.

We can argue theres more goals in the team when we play 4 at the back rather than 5.

I think he may end up as a screening holding central midfielder in front of the back 3 or 4
He's a powerful ball-playing type who will probably get a decent amount of goals

My third trip up to St Andrews this season from North Devon. Have seen 2 wins so far. Hoping for same again and going for a 3-1 win. Hopefully not everyone is last minute Christmas shopping and we get at least 6k there.

We need to play a false number 9.
Any one of our strikers should be able to do the job.
2-1 win. Biamou and Allen.

Kellys had a full week to rest, surely first name on the teamsheet unless his quality dips massively below others at the club

Don't see a better starting line up than that. With Ohare, Westbroke and replacement full backs on the bench for Robins to not use until its too late.

Sounds crazy but it just might work. Shipley definitely has the composure and decent finishing to play up top along with his movement off the ball. Max with his flick ons and hold up play.

I'd still prefer a little and large partnership in this league, like an Adebola/Mifsud style link up. I think Chaplin might have done well next to Godden/Max

Looking forward to this, but Grendel's Xmas quiz has diverted my focus! (substitute 2 bugging the hell out of me). Could do with a win, but Merry Xmas to one and all regardless!

Not sure what our defence is supposed to do when we sit deep and defend a 1 goal lead for the entire second half (until we concede) of away matches
Edit: this is me agreeing with you that the defensive personnel aren’t the issue
