what a *** end to the winning run. to concede those two goals was shambolic and that handball call from the ref lol. his had is behind his body, dont know where else he can move at. if anything its moving away from the ball.
cov hoodoo continues. they have won their cup final when they fail to win away again all season, we will be laughing at them in the middle of the play off pack.

cov were ***, their game plan was try and boot us and play long balls. the got very fortunate to be gifted them goals. we had yet another crap day against them, everything just works out doesn't it. no tactical masterclass, no super football. a big boot forward for the second and first like their other half chances was all down to us trying to force it when playing out. time and a place for that. not early on in this game.

they looked like a bottom 3 side fighting for their lives. trash, no chance they will finish above us come may,
what a load of ***

Well done on the victory. I honestly dread playing you.

I thought first half you where the better team. I expected you to start how you did but your pressing and closing down really stopped us getting into any rhythm. The few times we did get hold of the ball our passes where over hit or under hit. You give both Browne and Morris a tough time and then the half turned scrappy with lots of silly fouls from both teams.

We came out much better second half and much higher up the pitch. Second goal hurt - it was probably our best spell of the game but the way we play does leave us at risk and you punished us. I will say i thought our keeper could have done better for the first goal and both Ayling and the keeper should have commanded the situation for the second better but you are direct and very powerful in attack.

When we scored, i honestly thought we would come back to grab a point so to concede a penalty within seconds completely killed the game off.

Disappointing but im not going to dwell on it to much. We are second in our own right and still only point behind you. We have two home games to come in Oxford and Leicester so hopefully we can get things back on track.

Think you guys will use that game and performance and kick on. But we both know know it those games against the teams sitting deep that can cause the problems.

Well done again, another good advert for the division, atmosphere sounded good on TV. Hopefully we are both celebrating come May.

An unappreciated moment from last night, apologies if it's already been covered: I fucking loved Josh Eccles' conduct around the penalty. He grabbed the ball and withstood the shithousing from the Boro players (who I guess thought he would be taking it), then when they were done passed it to Wright. Me and everyone around me was saying "surely Eccles isn't taking this" then realised what he was doing. Utter class.

Best side we've seen at our place all season. You can see why they were on a 6 game winning run. We only had 28.5% possession at home. We have played much better but have been slated for being poor because we haven't scored and been hit on the break.

If Wright didn't have his shooting boots on for the first time in ages and they didn't give away a penalty this place would have gone into meltdown. It would have been seen as our worse performance for a long time and our players would have been seen as bottlers and the question marks would have continued with Lampard.
Don't agree with you mate, I thought Ipswich were much better than Boro, they kept us at arms length all night and didn't give us a sniff.

The crowd were utterly immense last night, although I did have the volume up to max on the telly. The only thing that spoilt it was the commentator and pundit who were so obviously bias to Borough it was embarrassing. The two bad fouls by moris , first the headbutt that was clearly intentional on rudi and the stamp on Grimes ankle have still left me fuming this morning, especially compared to the booking Saks got for slipping over. I so hope the club appeal and protest at the injustice and report the moris incidents to the governing body so moris gets his late red.

that shithouse Ayling tried to rough the spot up, but Eclles pushed him away and the dozy fucking ref just stood and watched.

Other than the penalty not given that would have given us the lead
Ipswich were much better but its true things like that change a direction of a game. I know all fans think it but I don't give a fuck, think we'd be well clear if it wasn't for truly awful, game changing, refereeing on several occasions.

Yet somehow we’ve managed to do the double over the miserable, salty northerners.

A draw would be okay.

Only thing is, we do need to start winning away soon. So although coming away with a point wouldn't be bad, a win would give such a tremendous lift to the club. .

So, I am a bit on the fence. I don't see a draw as a bad thing at all in isolation, but in the grand scheme, we DO need to win away real soon.

4 points from the next 2 away games would be fantastic.
Yeah a draw would be okay Otis, we don't have a great record at WBA.

They've not won in the league since the 29th December and the new manager coming in hasn't been able to turnaround the slump they've had.

Your point of we need to start winning away soon, is true, but we might not get presented a better opportunity then this.

I think Frank deserves some huge credit for last night. He changed his tactics and had us playing long balls in behind their high defence, especially in the second half. Something he wouldn't normally do, but he knew Boro's midfield would be good and press us high. Rushworth drop kicked several long balls down the middle which he doesn't normally do as we normally play out from the back and it worked.

My thoughts on last night, gotta say I was nervous beforehand, but the way we started soon sorted me out, Haji could've scored before the balcony were even seated and Boro looked shocked right away.
The ref, who is a Prem ref (supposedly ) was fucking dire, how did Tats get booked for slipping over and bumping into Brittain, yet their players were falling over if we got anywhere near them, let alone tackle them? Morris was guilty of two nasty ones, the stamp on Grimes's ankle and the headbutt/shoulder to Rudi's head as he ran past him, a sneaky blindside cheap hit!!! Surely needs the review panel to look at that.

They had 71.5% possesion according to the Beeb, but only 4 shots on target, the same as us, but Brynn missed 3 of them to let goals in, hahahaha, we could have had 5 if Haji's 2 close efforts had gone in. Most of their play was 5 yard tip-tap passing in front of our defence, so increased their possesion stats, I didn't think they looked like the side all the Media have been wanking over, just poor old Boro who we've beaten 7 games in a row!!
We have Haji Wright, they have Tommy Conway.................nuff said. I thought Onyeka was superb in the middle and Sakamoto was the star of the show, but Eccles won the prize for awareness, stopping ther players, especially Pikey Ayling, from scuffing up the penalty spot

We have to keep this level of intensity up now and take it into the Baggies game at least.
Lastly, my throat is fucked like swallowing sandpaper, but fuck me, well worth it. PUSB

Remember a similar thing at the Oxford away game last season when Simms missed the pen. While all the shenanigans around the penalty decision was going on Bidwell was holding the ball and I thought, "OMG, surely not?" Perhaps he should have tried as Simms' penalty was rubbish.

Why would anyone be critical of that performance?

It is this whole 'I am a better fan than you' thing. It is as boring as the people shitting the bed. Yes, some people have done, but most were just concerned with our performances and throwing away the lead. Look at how we played last night - we were immense. You cannot look at that and say we have been playing like that for the last month or two. It was obviously a huge step up. Very encouraging, but we need to take those levels and sustain it.

Like Lampard says, we don't get too high after a win, and we don't get too low after a loss. You take the positives from that game and make sure you are as hungry when you step out onto the pitch against WBA. I said the same thing yesterday, but if there is the same desire as we saw last night for the rest of the season, we will do it.

Thank fuck for that. Now to get a run going.

Where has this team been the last couple of months?

Nice to have a couple of things go in our favour for a change. I'd have been fuming if we'd conceded that route one goal.

And finally a penalty. Seemed like slow motion waiting for the ref to find a reason not to give it :ROFLMAO:

robbiethemole, brilliant take on the game. Im glad i wasnt the only one to see the two moris incidents. He really is a low life pr1ck. As for boro first half posseson I though the stats were way off as we dominated the pace of the game. True boro had the lions share of the second, but they were chasing the game and we were dropping off a yard or two. Wrights penalty was vital as their heads went and we gained 10% energy . Would have been the other way around had he missed and I think we would have been lucky to escape with a point.
