Tonight also signalled to me what I have been saying about Grimes' suitability for the Premier league. He came up against a really athletic and strong midfield today and really struggled.
Yep agree with this. Crucial for us in the championship, but would be less important in the PL as much more likely to be caught out

Can't be bothered to read through the thread to be honest.

The sensible take from all this though is, we were very poor first half, but second half, much, much better and we were beginning to dominate the game.

One very unlucky deflection later and it turned the whole game back round again and we looked lost.

These things happen. We corrected what was wrong at half time and looked like the team who were going to score next

That Clarke goal really looped into the net. Not a lot you can do about that.

Now we have to just get back on track again against Charlton. Win there and we are into the January transfer window.

Keep the faith.
What you can do is have your full back not miles out of position letting Clarke have acres.

Never, ever, in a month of Sunday's did i ever think id be wishing BTA would hurry back from injury to replace Rudoni. But the sooner the better. Weve been poor for a few weeks now. How much of that is down to illness? How much is that down to Rudi playing instead of BTA? All i do know is Rudi is a shadow of the player we know he can be. And questions seriously need asking whether he should be starting ahead of Eccles on Thursday.

Also, for all the people who immediately refused the addition of Bamford out of hand, tonight was crying out for a player like him. Every ball forward just came straight back with Haji offering fuck all. All those who said he was shit, he's scored 5 for a poor blunts team, in that same time Haji has a big fat fuck all zero against his name. Just saying.

Just can’t keep starting games like we’re shit scared to lose.

On the back foot after the first half and it’s a recurring trend.

We need to start more positively-we’re not top of the league for nothing-teams are scared of us but we can’t start like sheep every game.

Hate to say it but Rudoni looks out of sorts and Wright looks like he can’t be arsed either.

We need an injection of pace and technical ability to give our team some confidence.

Never gave Saka a chance today to take on that massive lanky centre back playing at right back either.

The ball should’ve been played to him every attack.

A bit of perspective as this is only our 3rd lose but Lamps needs to sort the teams confidence out-starting with a front foot win at Charlton!

Their striker was much better at challenging and holding up passes to feet.

It’s at the point where Rudoni could maybe do with some time coming off the bench instead.

Disappointing performance. We were rubbish first half and lucky to go in all square, but second half we looked to be competing. And at the end of the day it took 2 deflected goals to best us. Without deflections I would have backed Rushworth to save both.

It wasn't just a lucky deflection, though.

It was the chance of a break with Rudoni free, but the wrong pass was made into a dangerous area, they win it, one pass and they're in. That summed up the performance; so many times making the wrong decision, it was a performance that lacked any intelligence. That's what's most frustrating.

I disagree with the common consensus that we were hugely better in the second half. It was hard to be worse than the first. I felt throughout Ipswich were likely to win it.
We will have to agree to disagree then. We looked the most likely to score and were on top. We were dominating the game.

The lucky deflection changed everything

Yeah happy to disagree. Would encourage you to watch the ten minutes before the goal. We were not dominating. Rushworth made a great save just before.

It looks like Ipswich may be to you what you are to us tbh. Which is a pain in the backside for us lot too, the games we wanted you to win more than any other were the Ipswich ones and us no longer having a single CB fit now couldn't have came at a worse time. 😕

Here's hoping that we are to Ipswich what they are to you, to complete the crazy triangle and we can make it 6 points off them at Portman Road once we have a defence again.

I didn't say "just one lucky deflection."

I said the lucky deflection changed the game
If people could look back at the second half over again, you would see we were on top until the goal

That’s rubbish Otis. Outplayed for all of the game apart from the first 10 of the second half.

We should have had 2 pens though although I’ve not seen them back
