I agree, never had any issue with them as a team or its supporters, but for some reason they seem to resent us. Very strange change of mentality.

I've mentioned this before but the whole division seems totally rattled by us being a club on the up. Literally every game the opposition fans are posting absolute horse shit. That's why I have no time for any of them tbh, I wish SISU like owners on every single one of them.
HITC posted a Championship video this week and they’re even in the comment section on that describing how we’ll be swept aside on Monday and it’s all a fluke blah blah blah. As he said in that video, we’ve been on 2 PPG since Lampard came in. It isn’t a fluke.

We can't all set the Premier league alight with.....(checks note).......22 points, 4 victories and a 23rd place finish.

Even if we are we'll still be 10 points clear of the most expensive Championship team ever assembled 😆
Fucking clowns. Hope Boro hold them off and they flop in the play offs.

Granted the game isn't on Tuesday it's tomorrow :ROFLMAO: But yes, we may well lose to them twice in a month with illness running through the squad in both games and a completely bent ref in at least one...still will be 10 points clear of them as you say.

Their away form will have to turn in a big way to get anywhere near us. I'd be satisfied with a point to keep them where they are given the tough fixtures and circumstances we've faced. If we beat them id say its almost impossible they catch us.

I'm of the same view, a draw would be just fine. That said I'm getting a similar feeling about it as before that game against Leeds under Aidy Boothroyd after which the season really tanked. We were in playoff contention rather than some way clear at the top though.

Some good players in that team but led by ( according to many at the time) a total tosspot. We all have doubts because of so many disappointments, but I'm quietly confident we will finish the job this year.

I don’t as I’d take Hackney from boro…can’t say there’s any players of theirs I’d particularly want.

Not just match threads, they are dismissive of us and the league in general, disbelief that they aren't promoted already.

They seem a surprising brand of arrogant considering they’ve only had a couple great seasons in the EFL then tanked the prem.

Leicester were just as arrogant in 23/24 but at least they had prem seasons, European football, and trophies to back it up.

Would be nice to pay them back for the defeat earlier in the month but results over Xmas means we could afford a draw if necessary.

I am steeling myself for a defeat though. We've got a small, illness ravaged squad playing three games in a week so they're going to be knackered. Our first choice LB is suspended and his replacements are either looking a bit past it at this level or not showing the positional awareness required (especially when the person playing ahead of them doesn't track back so much)

Probably saw Wright in for Simms again (though I do think Simms has been poorly managed by FL - he thrives on confidence, scores 5 in 3 and gets PotM then gets dropped for a player who didn't look fully match fit and was in a dry spell. Is it any wonder when he comes back in he's lost a bit of his mojo?). I would at some point like to see the two of them up front together rather than always the straight swap.

Other consideration is Rudoni. Clearly a very, very good player but since he's come back in we haven't looked quite the team we did while he was out. He takes a few extra touches that is preventing us being as deadly going forward as we were with BTA in the team. He also seems to drift around a bit too much and take up positions other players are already in. Get him to stay more central.

They’ve turned into a very dislikable club to be honest, having previously been pretty neutral. Got one extra point than they should have too.
Referees would appear to love them! I have never known a football club get so many decisions in their favour. Even in the Millwall match the Millwall goal could have gone either way for off side and we know which way it went. Hirst should have been sent off against us and poor Blackburn 1 nil up with 10 minutes to go against 10 men and the match was replayed. In the replay Matisiwa remained on the pitch for a last man foul with the Blackburn player clear on goal. Blackburn by all accounts were denied a clear penalty and they got a jammy last minute equaliser which they did not deserve.
As previous posters have said they used to carry the goodwill of many neutrals in their games , but not anymore.

Would FL give Callum Perry a start at LB got to see what this lad is about sooner or later. Could be a nice surprise if he gets a chance.

The pen was stone wall.

Like that one Chelsea got away with against Newcastle but even more obvious

Hopefully we'll have a few dead rubbers at the end of the season once we've won the league which will alow us to give minutes to Perry, Andrews etc

I'm not convinced Wright works with EMC, Rudoni and Saka. We'd be better off with an aggressive goal hanging box striker. That's nearer Simms but sadly he isn't quite it either.
One to sort out in the Summer

This one's a free hit for us. If we go for it and beat the carrot munchers we put 16 points on them, they will not get 6 wins more than us in the second half of the season. I just hope we pin out ears back and don't think about losing or drawing, this could be the game that breaks their auto hopes and cements us as going up. It would be a monumental fall off for us not too. Backhouse is the ref and he has always seemed half decent for us.

How does a defeat against us end their auto hopes when they’re currently only 5 points behind Boro?

not sure he'd start him out of position
