That was pretty poor. We are so slow in the build up, and all our attacking play is based on winning headers from crosses.

We clearly don’t trust Raphael therefore we need a winger.

same for Simms

in reality we don’t want BTA so need a LW if he’s the cover there.

sheaf injured so need back up in CM

Yet we are bidding £8m for a CB

Truth be told we are quite a boring side .. but he has to find a way to beat weaker sides as this is a continuation of last season against sides that will probably struggle

Its good we haven't lost , but we really ran out of ideas today and are far too one dimensional under frank at times

We move on to Luton
The ball needs to move with much more purpose and speed, players need to move more off the ball. What we said last season for the most part.

I reckon Haji Wright would be happier lying on a chaise longue modelling a pair of Calvin Klein underpants than playing centre forward in Coventry.
I would be happier if he was lying on a chaise longue modelling a pair of Calvin Klein underpants as well. Get him to fcuk.

Frustrating. Huffed and puffed but never truly threatened

Emc and bta poor. Rishworth looked v good for us though

On plus side we did control game still and got a clean sheet. That's a good basis to build upon and tweaks to find attacking output.

Gutted about sheaf. Really wanted to see him play this season . Maybe it's a good thing this happened so lampard knows to bring in another rnisfielder perhaps. Shame though as he would have played Vs Luton I think to give grimes a rest.

Still unbeaten this season. Onwards and upwards

We're so predictable. BTA offers nothing and has a horrible habit of setting up the opposition through not looking where he's passing. Thought it was poor.

The usual balanced reaction here I see

Got question marks for Frank on the Wright sub. 12 minutes of preseason vs Ellis Simms who at least has more fitness.

Feel for Sheaf. Feel for us more that Allen is now our main bench choice for the middle.

That... wasn't great. Absolutely toothless up front. Didn't look like we had any clue how to break them down. Our crosses offered no real threat at all. Set pieces were terrible. Wright clearly not fit. And yet...

Says a lot that Simms didn't get a sniff again.

Oh yeah, and add to that Sheaf injured. Again. That'll probably be the last we see of him until Christmas, because it's never a quick job where Sheaf is concerned

Disappointing. Take the point and clean sheet and move on but same issues remain:

Toothless
No aggression or intent
Tippy tappy pointless possession
Sheaf is a sick note
We check back far more than driving forward
Grimes playing a false CB
Rushworth was quiet but did well
BTA not good enough

Probably forgot a few. Needed to score when we had the spell in the first half but 2/3 shots on target at home to Hull or I think will struggle shows no intent. If I was a neutral I’d fear nothing.

Don't want to be too judgey, classic first day of the season stuff but fuck me it just confirms what most could already see. Our forwards are fucking wank.
It's not just the forwards, though; it's the lack of conviction around the box. The lack of people attacking space. Twice we had brilliant balls put in across the box, but there was nobody running into the right area.

Glad I didn’t pay good money to watch that 0-0!

Rushworth looks like the best keeper we’ve had in quite some time. McBurnie is still a prick 😂

Clean sheet is a solid start, but we need to be more ruthless in the final third
