Robins got lucky last season when Mcnulty’s goals got him out the shit, but I’m afraid he just can’t motivate players, or sort out a simple system, or effectively use substitutions, or buy effective players.
It maybe early days, new league, new players settling in blah blah blah, but just look at the “taxi for Robins” thread from last season, and the problems were obvious back then.

I think I'd rather have driven to Blackpool, changed my £10 for 2ps and tried to win some plastic shit

we have a guy in the U23s who's scoring and setting up goals, looks perfect to play up front with a big man. He has to play on Saturday in a 4-4-2. Luckily it's early in the season and we can sort this out quickly, it can't go on for long.

Today's game truly awful - Blackpool look like relegation fodder and we looked worse.

Tactically all over the place, Ogogo and Doyle could not get the ball down and play at all. Bakayoko an absolutely hopeless performance. Both must be changed before Saturday.

Hyam the only positive from the game, I would also swap Sterling for Grimmer. For a young right back with so much promise, Sterling never once looked like contributing today.

I'm boycotting the post match conference! I doubt much will come out of it, especially since it'll be Geoff asking the questions

Also, I have the last episode of the first series of Slasher to watch! (Recommended if anyone likes horrors )

I don't even know why people are discussing bringing JCH back in, he will be brought back in and chase long balls all game with nobody near him. He will have a lower threshold of when he gets pissed off and he will get fed up.

It was not much different to Oxford or Wimbledon. Obviously not going to work from the off. Robins has no plan B.

Sterling needs to come out. Grimmer has character at least even if there isn't a massive difference ability wise. Similarly that's why I feel we are missing Kelly. Desperately need to fuck O’Brien off. How can he think he deserves first team football when he's culpable for soo many goals. Hyam was class. Most disappointing for me was that we lost the battle massively tonight.

Did we ever play more than 3 passes in their half before losing the ball?

Playing Doyle and Ogogo in the same team is like playing with ten men. I’m not doubting their abilities but they just do the same thing. At least a Doyle/Kelly partnership has a bit of variation with Doyle breaking down play and Kelly getting forward.

Until Kelly is match for we must surely revert to 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 with playing Doyle/Ogogo in the centre with Bayliss and then have Andreu play just off whichever striker we pick (who can’t score)

At the moment all we do is invite pressure on to the defence which is crazy considering we have two suspect full backs and the two defensive midfielders often caught in no man’s land

It's a myth. Kelly breaks down play better than Doyle.

Thats the thing, he will put him in out wide. He will also have to fit Bayliss or Andreu in somehow with Ogogu and Doyle.

He has said Doyle picks himself, wouldn't be surprised of Robins loses the dressing room. Already heard Brown has attitude issues as did McDonald which is why he went. There will be more if it carries on.

Gobsmacked. Robins should have kept faith in the majority of the squad that made us so proud in May. Even Burge - who I have criticised for so long - stood out and played his part. Unless he’s still struggling with an injury (which I don’t think I’ve heard), surely he should be the number one name on the team sheet!

Why let McDonald go without a replacement lined up?

All eggs in one basket for McNulty’s replacement in Chaplin. If he was the answer, then use the £200k we’ve flushed down the toilet for Bakayoko, a player we didn’t need to sign.

Why change the system and formation? There was no width and no threat. It wasn’t as if tippy-happy, quick interchanges worked. We didn’t string 3 passes together all night!

Why is Sterling seemingly a guaranteed starter at RB? Not impressed again this evening. Bring back Grimmer.

Allassani? Performing well in the 23’s. Why isn’t he getting a sniff in the squad?

JCH & Ponticelli. Where are they?

Blackpool have been in turmoil. No goals and no win.... no manager either.

Missing Kelly in the middle.

So, so frustrating. Robins is quickly undoing all of the hard work that he did to get us up and the feel-good factor is quickly diminishing. Is this an over-reaction? On what I’ve seen, certainly not. We didn’t even come close tonight. Same at Wimbledon. Something needs to change and quickly!

I thought we were very good against Scunthorpe for quite large portions of the game. We weren't that bad against Plymouth either. Not great at all, but not that bad.

Seemingly we have saved our awful performances for our away matches.

The ifollow footage is better than last season - far less glitching and freezing.

Coventry are not better. That was atrocious against a very limited Blackpool side. It feels to me like Robins has inadvertently spoiled the side and doesn't know what to do about it.

Bakayoko didn't seem to offer anything at all. Ogogo gave it away constantly and is slow. Sterling tried but does almost nothing going forward and still hasn't shown he is as good as Grimmer. Brown had a poor game and looked physically short. O'Brien was responsible for the second goal (I missed the first making a cup of herbal tea but it seems that was his fault too). Thomas showed flickers. Willis was fine, in his way. Hyam was superb. Andreu probed and darted about when he came on but Hiwula was, once more, completely invisible, so there was no one to play passes to. Doyle reduced to playing quarterback when he got bored with Willis and Hyam playing it to each other as they retreated towards their own goal, again. Bayliss was poor, losing the ball and being hustled out of possession repeatedly. Shipley tried but just didn't get into it.

That's as bad as I've seen for a while.

I've been to 2 games this season......one home and one away.....this team isn't going to gel in its current formation.....right players wrong formation (GK apart)..... I'm now relying on the Rugby on Saturday to see Cov stuff that other Rugby club to cheer me up....that and 12 pints

I'm hoping the SBA turn out in force to support the famous Cov.......

Wimbledon was one of the worst games I've ever seen, made it all the worse by those around me fawning over Joe Elliot and his binoculars.

Bakayoko in illustrious company with Runar Normann and I think Evtushok, maybe? Can anyone remember any other City subs to have been subbed?

He needs to come up with a way of playing him centrally, preferably with a partner and give them a few games together to gel. This constant changing is no good.

Maybe just before going back to our defenders to hammer it forward.

The players are going to get pissed off soon enough. Saturday when Bakayoko had the ball had his feet his link up play was good, we reverted to long ball to his head like we did against Wimbledon and Oxford that didnt work.
