Yeah, that's what I don't get with all these holiday plans. Everybody reacts differently, of course, but the thought of being holed up somewhere, either having to queue for supermarket just in a different place, or having a socially distanced bar experience just doesn't appeal to me.

I guess I can understand camping or something (you get the miserable torment experience then anyway!) but the rest is just going to be a pale shadow, and remind me of what I could have had.

I'd rather wait until it's close-ish to normal and I can go to a restaurant safe that I won't have a masked waiter gesticulating furiously at my plate of food, set for me to go over and collect for myself!

And that's before any hassle crossing borders, or finding public toilets on the way that are open and usable...

I’ve assumed based on Greece’s trend in unwinding their lockdown that the experience will be fairly normal by mid July but we’ve got time to cancel for free if it changes. It’s hotels being closed here that are the main obstacle to us going due to the early flight.

Piers Morgan is a c**t, but he’s right about the tribal nature of politics recently. Since Brexit it’s just about defending your team, faux outrage, and intellectual dishonesty.

Very depressing. People genuinely don’t seem to understand how democracy works, what roles the press and opposition play constitutionally.

It’s so easy to see how atrocities happen, and at best it lets poor politicians off the hook.

Great post, we all want is best for the country, regardless of views on Brexit, these lot are a disgrace and not for for purpose.

It's not just about Cummings anymore.
The part timer has backed him to the hilt and coerced the cabinet to do the same.
Gove made to look a complete pillock this morning in interviews and even Sunak getting some stick for defending Cummings.
Massive error of judgement by Johnson.

I see the MP for Rugby is now calling for Cummings to resign. Anyone know the tally now of how many MPs have broken ranks?

I suspect that might rise a bit today as MPs get bank to work from the bank holiday to find letter and emails of complaint and the polls start to reflect the public mood.

Good, I emailed him yesterday and seems like many others did too.

I thought he was too much of a tow the line Tory to actually ask for Cummings to resign though, fair play.

Yep....I'm surprised they didn't go down the tried & tested route....
Make him "resign", let him lurk behind the scenes in an unofficial capacity & then welcome him back into the fold ready for the next campaign....

...worked for Blair & Campbell after all..

Yeah politically seemed like the obvious thing to do.

Starting to think they’re trying to use it as an opportunity to galvanise their support against the media.

I was tempted to reply with something like “should they just throw any journalist who asks an awkward question into a gulag?”

What can you do though? There’s no reasoning with anyone these days.

I generally think the Nazi comparisons are over done, but the way so many are gleefully screeching “lugenpresse” really does set me on edge.

Wife got ill, decided he needed to drive to Durham with 4 yo in case he needed a family member to look after the kid (he has family in London).

Then went for a day trip to Barnard Castle because he thought his eyesight wasn’t good enough to drive to London and he wanted to test it. By total coincidence it was his wife’s birthday that day and he took his 4yo along with him.

Government now hastily deleting previous advice and changing the rules so they can make out this was all above board. Also saying any parent would have done the same and that driving your car is a reasonable eye sight test.

Strapped his four year old and wife in the car and went for a 1 hour drive to test if he could drive while suffering from double vision. Not even making that up
