It was a two way Brexit election. Without Brexit we’d have been down below 30% in all likelihood.

Elections are easy: you pick three to five voter concerns, put together policies that address them, then hammer that message home.

God knows what the Labour strategists were up to. Even I as an engaged member couldn’t tell you our policy on crime and the NHS but everyone knows Johnson’s promises even if they don’t believe them.

A Labour canvasser knocked on the door a few days before the vote and even with both of us wanting a reason to vote for them she really struggled to answer much beyond 'well it's better than what the Tories will do'. I can't remember the urge to not vote being greater

It's not just numbers though.

Now... I certainly don't subscribe to this bollocks that some degrees are worthless. If they're well taught, then they all give useful skills that can be used elsewhere. The issue is post-tuition fee that universities set up courses for the funding, and don't kick out underperforming students because they're paid on completion rates. Therefore, some students (when the pastoral care would be better to give them the space to find themselves, and focus) come out with a piss-poor degree having been taught nothing by grunts brought in to do the job, as the university becomes a money making machine rather than an educational establishment.

Stop education being run as a pseudo-economic market, and start using it to benefit the country.

Did you see the clip of an angry American right wing political commentator and Trump apologist being interviewed by Andrew Neil and he accused Andrew Neil of being a looney left? Andrew Neil just left at him and said that if you understand what a ridiculous statement that is you wouldn’t have said it in the first place.

Yeah Ben Shapiro. Absolute tool but one of the new breed of American political commentators where if you search for the wrong thing once on Youtube you're force fed his ridiculous opinions for weeks.

Not just Sky & BT, International rights worth a huge sum too. 1.3bn per year equally shared between clubs so going to effect "smaller"PL clubs more.
Also because PL were trying to maximize their income they sold of blocks of games so it's so much per game rather than a blanket fee.

I don’t think it is David (pretty sure new cases was 3k yesterday, up to 4K today)

Never one to only post negative news so I’ve attached the graph from the guardian which might indicate a bit of a more positive underlying trend.

The NHS online symptom assessment and 111 call numbers peaked around 22/23 March. 111 calls look to be similar/pretty much capacity each day, however, online assessments were 147k on 23 March and have been on a downward trend since, currently around 70k per day by the looks of things. Not great still but hopefully a sign that the confirmed cases tide will turn in the coming days (fingers crossed)

Good point, although you'll forgive me for not feeling too sorry for any premier league team for missing out on yet more millions.

Couldn't care less, we were at the top on merit and a game in hand.

It isn't like every other team started off minus 50 points apart from us.

Fucking right- we are top, we are blatantly the best team and it took us one less game to prove it. There is not one single argument or metric that does not conclude that Coventry City are the best team in the division are therefore are Champions.

I will party on my own on the front garden with a can of special brew. Just need to find an old sofa to put there for full effect.

I wouldn't mind them calling it now and making us champions. If we were playing at the Ricoh and looking forward to a huge crowd and party on the last day of the season I might feel differently.

I feel like we've proven we are the best side in the division. We might not get that moment of elation at the final whistle but I still feel like it would be a sweet feeling and well deserved.

Friday is my last day as well Dave. I'm going off with a 40% wage reduction and no sign yet if my contract will be renewed once the maternity cover I took 11 months again ends mid-May.

Hoping to get an email from HR today. Furlough I can deal with. 40% reduction in wages I can deal with (with the help of the mortgage window). Not knowing if I have a job after mid-May is the sole concern for me at the moment.

Just found out they've extended my contract until the end of June so I get 3 months furlough pay. I'll then be unemployed after 10 years service with no redundancy pay. Feels like a kick in the bollocks that I just drop of their radar after 10 years good service. I understand (I think) the reasoning behind it though.

Hey ho. At least my wife, my boy and I are all healthy and with the mortgage break, we can survive for the next 3-4 months and potentially save some more money.

Time to look for a new job or consider starting up my own sports accommodation business.

Life-changing.
