Give it a break about Johnson mate, you don’t like him, we get it. Whatever you think of him I bet the blokes had fuck all sleep all week (after having to make constant life and death decisions). He also said at the press conference yesterday he had meetings with key supermarkets today to try to sort out what they can do about the selfish panic buyers !. After that I hope he does have a breather

It's no secret I don't like Boris. But he's well known for being lazy - calling an emergency COBRA meeting for 3 days time so as not to spoil his weekend, basically saying he was fed up of these press conferences after only the third one - and this just smacks of laziness again.

I get that he's busy, I'm sure he's getting plenty of sleep and rest. It really is no great trouble to take 15 minutes out of his day to do a press conference during a global crisis. Front up and do your job. I have zero sympathy, it's the doctors and nurses and carers that deserve sympathy and a rest, not Boris Johnson.

It was different in the town centre earlier, less people, keeping distance (not just from me !!!). A few kids over the park though which is nice to still see (as they’ve got to get some fresh air and exercise)

Prohibition is a foolish pursuit.
Listen/read some Johan Hari and Neil Woods of LEAP.
Your statement, we are too reliant on alcohol may have some merit (though not so much for the younger generations).
But prohibition isn't the answer.

No the obsession was with the murderers going to the pub.

The hundreds outside Costco this morning are obviously just fighting for their lives and have no chance of passing germs about.

Have a look at PVA as the example, a few blokes outside with a beer is a disgrace but no mention of hundreds needlessly standing next to each other for hours queueing... Again.

i wouldn’t be surprised if some supermarket rules get brought in over the next day or two following government meetings today, as this behaviour has got to stop (as you say the close proximity of people queuing just goes against the general advice - that’s not to say it justifies going to the boozer though !)

So obsessed with the politics that it shows little regard for what's actually going on. Many would actually prefer to hear from different areas of government so we can get more detailed answers in specialist areas. Hearing about the supply chain today it seems more logical to hear from the minister in charge of it to me?

i have yet to see anyone who went to Costco joyfully post pictures of them defying common sense and taking the piss out of people who raise concerns.

but anyway, I don’t know what your grudge is with me and supermarkets, I’ll leave it there.

A drink at home is about the only joy/pleasure many are going to get for the next few weeks, banning it would be crazy (and impossible)

Do you think drug prohibition is working?
Do you think the ordinary people of Mexico and Central America think it's a good policy?

My point isn't that it justifies it, just that the abuse people got and accusations for going to the pub in case they touch a door handle yet if you mention those clowns its just "people need to eat".

I think its sad people need it for pleasure but each to their own. I am sure friday night a and e would see less traffic if alcohol didnt exist! Police less trouble on matchday too

They probably wont as they aren't being told they are killing their gran.

My grudge is clowns like you, PVA on here and those on social media who stirred up so that picture taking.

Surely you are worried about the spread between these people? Its just that there's loads more people, closer together for hours but your worry about Dave going for a beer and killing people has vanished.

PVA is worried about few people playing golf with a beer though.

Its fucking weird.

That's true, if you want detailed answers then Boris definitely isn't the man.

To me it just smacks of sheer laziness and a disregard for the situation.

If other ministers are to speak then that's fine and very welcome, but Boris should still be there. It shouldn't have to be either Boris or a minister, why not both?

You think everyday people in Mexico and Central America who don't take drugs aren't affected by prohibition. I can confidently say you're wrong.

As I said, check out Johan Hari and Neil Woods. Watch the documentary the house we live in

If you've got and pro prohibition material you think I should watch I'll gladly give it a spin. I'll leave it there.

It's frankly astonishing you still don't get it.

The government have literally just banned it (for good reason), and you're still defending people doing it.

They haven't banned people going out have they? Places are still allowed to do take away and being outside isn't banned.

I could go and walk the dog with a couple of cans with my mate.

Still, no mention of tens of thousands of people outside shops for hours this morning or somebody nipping in Primark.

This is what happens when people are driven by politics, their common sense goes out the window and they talk nonsense.

I'm more astonished that for somebody who wants to cut down on the spread your worry is a few blokes with a can outside and not places where there chance of spreading is many times more likely.

I wouldn't expect somebody obsessed with just saying the opposite to some Moppy haired shagger to apply sense though.

They have my sympathy and praise for the work they’re doing !

Do you know his diary for the day, where meetings might’ve taking place, how fluid they might be, how long they might go on for ? Also how those conferences are arranged (with the various attendees) ? I might be wrong but I don’t see many other world leaders doing a daily briefing with Q&A (apart from possibly trump and his daily shitshow)

Johnson, quite rightly took flack at the election for not fronting up to wider media outlets but as I say, give him a break for not holding a press conference for a day or two

ps I’d rather have him spend that hour, plus prep dealing with pressing issues rather than turning up on tv just to please everyone. Also, if he’s sleeping well he’s 100 times the man I am
