Can’t wait for the Super Agent John Harriot to announce the move!

A lot of Pompey fans are disappointed Chaplin is going and a lot rate him. Compare that to the reaction of the Walsall fans laughing at us about Bakayoko...

A shame that Biamou has got injured, on paper he’s the perfect foil for a player like Chaplin.

Any guesses on how much we’re paying (in Jan after the loan) for Chaplin?

Bakayoko may do very well with Chaplin alongside him. I think there is a player there, maybe we should bide our time and give him a chance. He’s very raw, needs time and belief.

As has been said before I think he would work in a 4-2-3-1, with the right three behind him. If all can play football and look for his runs, that should work. Or even more attacking would be Andreu as part of the two alongside Doyle/Ogogo/Kelly, which would make us more attacking, but also a better footballing and creative team. And more reminiscent of the TM team that dominated L1 (for half a season, granted).

Equally if he’s a poacher, as long as the two wingers are fairly advanced, making a front three when attacking, again it will work.

In a 4-4-2, it sounds as though he’d work next to a big man, so JCH. It might even bring the best out in him as well, so could be a double positive.

Either way, MR has waited this long (assuming Bakayoko wasn’t a panic buy), so I’m sure he’s worth it. His record with signing strikers is on the whole positive.

My only worry is the expectations of our fans, especially considering the inpatience and subsequent moronic views expressed at times.
how can a bloke his height be a sole striker?

Just seen on a media site Barnsley still interested.
I went onto Barnsley’s fans forum and found some funny comments how they think their a bigger club than us and should be beating us to signings haha

A wee nippy man, but he will need somebody to play off, unless we are whipping the balls in low from the wing. Good luck to him. Hopefully if they do let Ponti out on loan, it will only be until January, as I can see him bagging a few wherever he goes. We can then have him back for our promotion push!

whats The chances of him getting a goal or three on Saturday? Should tomorrow be Connor Chaplin day or do we delay the official naming until he bags a hat trick?
