If we’ve learned anything from Clive it’s that we want a decent commentator probably with zero links to the club.

All joking aside, I'm dreading what CWR will come up with, given that Lorna Bailey and Rob Gurney are being touted as probable replacements. It was Clive's detachment from the club that made him such a good listen; that's not to say that he didn't care, he obviously did. Rob is too heart on sleeve and Lorna just hasn't a clue.

Im guessing the need someone who can do the funny shaped vegetables in the week as well as the football so im guessing Lorna stays with Oggy and it’s Rob on comms. Gurney is far too negative to be doing it regularly.

Agree. That would mean Gurney has to do the Lampard interview then which could be…interesting . I also can’t see him wanting to give up the phone in, he does like to spout off after the game.
Clive used to do the phone in and let Oggy run it which was sensible.

Had STs and supported CCFC for nearly 60 years but due to ill health not able to attend any more., unfortunately.
Now rely on watching City matches on Sky or listening on CWR, not the same I know, but better than nothing.
Don't know what format the CWR coverage will consist of from now on, but really hope they will get a decent commentator
on to replace Clive.

Wouldn't say I can't stand her, Lorna is clearly an able radio host - But not for CWRs sports coverage and yes you are right, she let her emotions get the better of her when she did the Doug King forum to the point where I cringed with embarrassment

Having JD involved on top would also be a laughing stock, his only football credentials are reading the teams out at The CBS, I am not sold on Rob either

The newish guy Carlton Wishart seems pretty good. Would be happy with him hosting the show rather than Bailey or god forbid Dalziel.

Those days are gone in local radio. There's fuck all budget after years of cuts. BBC local radio is hanging on as it is with only a handful of presenters who are actually local left. Independent radio has already merged itself into basically being a national with no local content.

There will be a problem coming down the line through as all the big players on national TV and radio will have come through those channels. Where are they going to find the next generation of talent from? Although given that the lead commentator on ITV is Matterface maybe they've already given up.
