Off down to Essex for a couple of days in the morning, I would be there if I could, we should celebrate this, there is nothing to be ashamed of in getting promotion, we haven't been a top flight club for a long time now and celebrating this promotion is a realisation of that fact.
It just might be the dawning of a new era to rival the Jimmy Hill years, long overdue in my mind.
I’m down in Hastings at the mo!

For people like me it’s all a bit underwhelming as it’s miles away from where we were for 75% of the time I’ve supported the team.

However, younger fans need to be considered. Imagine only supporting since the turn of the millennium - it’s horrendous

It’s a big deal to some and it keeps momentum and feel good

That's the significance, isn't it. This is a big chance to get some of those young kids onside.

Club should maybe dish out free tickets for kids to a game next season tomorrow along the route. Voucher you redeem their ticket adults will have to pay so you’ve got some cash out of the freebies!

There is a feel good vibe around the club, this season's achievement should be celebrated. We, as fans have a big part to play in how the wider City views the club, if we are happy, supportive and provide a positive impression of the boys on the field, then more and more people will become interested.

Been sent this image although can’t see it on twitter anymore

Is an open top bus really needed for going up from League Two? Am I just being a misery in thinking it’s a bit OTT? :D

Yes over the top.
The celebrations at Wembley will do for me.

City fans, eh!

We had people moaning about the price of tickets and allocations for the final and then people moaning about having a one off kit for the final and now because we are having an open top bus parade.

Ha!
Can’t win can they!

Look at it this way, it's another opportunity to give them a clap, as a bus trundles by. A bus that contains a few lads from Coventry, make it memorable for them. It's a quick trip into the city centre, or along another road...

The councillors should carry the players on their backs, Fisher should be put in stocks with rotten Ricoh burgers for the kids.

The big question is which pub are the players joining us in after? I want to buy Sparky at least two pints.

Sadly, won’t get back from London in time. I hope it’s a good turnout and whatever the cynicism and definition of success. This group of players and management achieved something not done since before nearly all of us were born.
I’m 48 and never seen a promotion, I was lucky to experience 87 and that was amazing, this was amazing in a different way.

Tonight, hopefully, parents, families and individuals will gather and maybe some will fall in love with the club again or for the first time and they then be part of the next generation because every club needs that, along with the continued hope and a slice of luck.

If I could get back, I would, and it’s hurting to miss it, we have had enough disappointments over the years to not turn out and celebrate would be a real shame for those players.
I’m hoping my boss understands today and cancels those afternoon meetings but sadly I doubt he will.

For those that go, enjoy it, it’s been a long time coming (whether it’s 6th or 1st, we’re both playing League 1 next year, we don’t make the rules, we play to them)

I may miss it too. Have to go back to the hospital with my eye.

It would be wrong if me to go there without it.

Last time I was there it was 14 hours, so not expecting to be back, but you never know.

If I can make it I think I will just head to the city centre.

Delayed going to Scotland to go to Wembley. Now in Glasgow so will miss this. Everyone who goes enjoy and give them a mighty cheer.

Wow I can't believe the amount of negativity on this thread.
Glad i hardly post anymore, I hope no fans from any of the teams that didn't get promoted see this arrogance!

What a shit day for it :(

I won't be able to make it out in time but hopefully people do.

It's half a shame the schools are off as they could have made an event out of it as they went past schools.

Ha ha ha I bet. If wasps did one you’d be the only sad wanker who’d show up.
Wasps finished 3rd in the Premier League so why would they celebrate?
Civic reception for 4th place in the 4th division is over the top.
Hope you enjoy the occasion though but unfortunately I’m on tour with grownups and can’t come out to play with you . :bear:

Would have been nice to all meet at the some venue rather than on the street.
Say in Broadgate where the walk finished.
Get the kids to meet the players as it’s half term.

Success should be celebrated whatever the level. The degree of celebration most would agree ought to include as many that care as possible. The club can't simply tell the council to close of roads etc. - the council have to be complicit.

The moaners can also moan all they like. It is generally accepted that success breeds success. What better way of keeping the feeling going?

We deserve more success!
