Their strategy is crazy. Can see why it worked in lower leagues but is going to get found out at this level IMO

First team footballers are generally getting younger as the demands to press and cover the pitch increase yet they're going the other way
It'll be more than enough for a lower midtable finish. The people rimming them on here may not be in a few years though

Surely not? I was told Leicester don’t have a pot to piss in and won’t be anything to worry about this season…

King Power are financing the club with loans from MSD Holdings, they don't have a pot to piss in.

Regardless they'll still be able to offer lucrative wages. Especially now it's starting to look like they're beginning to move players on.

Very much doubt they'll be signing anyone for significant fees though.

Only Southampton, Leicester, Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday have made less signings than us. Even Preston have made 9 signings. There's been over 100 signings by Championship clubs but most won't register with us at the time as they would only get on our bench at best.
Takes quite a while to get so many new signings to gell! MR found that out for the last few years or so

Wrexham will struggle to achieve anything if their business stays like this.

Looks like their transfer model is run by a couple old boys in the office and a dinosaur manager.

Couple years of lower mid-table getting beat more than winning and they will struggle to sell a doc on it and they’ll end up back where they belong.

They are not gonna get relegated. So strategy is fine.

I doubt internally they are expecting promotion from their first championship season

They may be outsiders for a promotion spot you never know. But I'm sure they will be happy with mid table.

It's only rival fans who see the money and owners that think they are messing up

It will work to achieve short-term aims but you could definitely build towards something stronger next year with smarter signings

These players are all approaching the hill on huge contracts & they're already having issues moving on squad players as they know they won't get it as good anywhere else

Looking at Wrexham’s squad, it seems they have 30 players over the age of 21 already, without counting Moore, Broadhead and Coady. Some may have been released but list not updated yet, but that’s a hell of a bloated squad.

They may just want to solidify their place in league first and then start the revolution as contracts end etc

that their model works in this league

They can pick up good old championship players when in league 1 but now you are looking 50k plus a week for past it PL players who still aren't going to get them promoted. Plus they have loads of players they are massively overpaying who have a while to go on their deals who won't move as no one else will pay them anywhere near the same.

Could give a fuck who owns them, I can just see the massive flaws in their model.
