Yeah, these are generally included as standard. Will only be able to trigger during a registration window (i.e. January).

If we are bidding those kinds of sums for a keeper on a permanent deal then that doesn’t bode well for Dovin’s recovery (or our faith in his recovery).

He might be perceived as a safe investment, in that we'll get a return on him and in the meantime can continue to develop Dovin

Hopefully can keep him for the season and not have to reply on a keeper that will have just recovered from an ACL

Or perhaps the club haven't the same confidence in Dovin, at this stage in his development, as the fans have

I'd think we would, unless Brighton have a keeper crisis.

I think that's what it is, too. If Dovin takes longer to return or struggles we still need a top drawer keeper, we know Wilson & Collins aren't at the level.

If Dovin comes back and can challenge for his place, then Rushworth looks like someone who will turn a profit if needed.

Nearly all loans now do have one. It is so teams can review loans both sides.

Just normal policy so that if they have an injury problem like last year or he’s not getting agreed time he can come back.

Wasn't Gallacher's debut (or 2nd game) at Forest, Semi Final Leg 1 of the League Cup.? Pearce launched a sliding assault tackle (took man and ball) early on. Absolute thuggery. Would be a straight red these days.

Odds are they want him to play and if he became our No.2 when Dovin is fit they would recall him.

Also, the penalty for 'handball' that came off Regis' knee, and the clear foul in the wall by Hodge on Gynn for the first goal scored by Pearce who, as you say, shouldn't have been on the pitch.

35 years and I'm still fuming. Christ knows how long it will take me to get over the Torp goal.

Don't think hardly anyone got sent off in those days, I remember someone being sent off and it made main news headlines. Could have been Dave Mackay but not sure.
Yellow/red cards weren't introduced until 1976
Edit: gallagher was later, was still thinking Stein era

Haven’t the regulations on call backs changed and it’s normally only in transfer windows

Yeah 100% it’s just why clubs include the clause. Standard policy

Was in the crowd for that game in Nottingham half-baked on Taboo or something similar after travelling up on the train from Bath where I was studying.
He nearly put him in the crowd!

Should have been a straight red, even then. Then the ball hitting Cryrille's thigh and given as a pen, and Gynn getting barged out of the wall for the free kick winner. I still feel robbed now.

The terrace that day was frighteningly crammed.

He scored against QPR and Grimsby in the LC. Can't remember who all the league goals were against but he definitely scored 7 in total.

He scored against Man United (great goal though we were 4 down at that point), then against Villa at home and Forest away.

I remember the Grimsby and QPR goals, but no idea about the other two.

He scored the winner in a 1-0 home win against Southampton so that makes 6, I can't find the 7th

It was £800k. Rangers paid £600k for him and sold him for a profit.

Listened to a Drinkell podcast / interview with him on it a bit ago. Slated Cov and said it was the biggest mistake of his career. He said that he scored headers a plenty pre-Cov and that we didn’t play to his strengths.

At the time we had Speedie, Regis, Bannister, Livingstone (breaking through and scoring goals) Keith Thompson (who scored about 20 goals in the Pontins league so could be classed as a forward).

David Smith out wide with Gallacher opposite could provide great crosses and Borrows similar from FB.

The suggestion that Drinkell wasn’t getting crosses to play to his strengths is BS. Speedie was banging in plenty of headers and he was a little bloke.

So, yes, what a stupid signing. We had plenty of strikers

My main memory of him was a decent cross coming in from the left and him leaping like a kebab and being back on the ground before the ball went over his head.
