Think he scored 7 overall for us of which I'm sure 4 were scored in his first 6 games.

I'm still pissed off with that miss in the last minute in the SF 2nd leg v Forest. I've no idea whether that would have taken it to ET, straight to pens, or we would have won on away goals. I'm still fuming with him regardless.

The best signing ever from Rangers. Awesome player for us
Just been watching Rangers '72 on Prime (?) about their European Cup Winners Cup win. Colin Stein featured (as did Willie Johnston, who tore Brian Roberts a new one a few times). Great player for them and for us. Him and Hutch - dreamland!

Stein wasn’t that great. He was ok but his record with us was pretty average.

If only Ellis could get in space like he could and head the ball as powerfully and accurately.

Was that when he scuffed it just straight into the keepers lap more or less?

And an own goal against Charlton. Don't forget that.

I think, considering he came for what was big money at the time, in my time supporting the club, he's been our worst ever signing.

If we are bidding those kinds of sums for a keeper on a permanent deal then that doesn’t bode well for Dovin’s recovery (or our faith in his recovery).

I remember Stein as a really good player, he contributed so much to the team.
1 goal in 4 is not prolific but he was a really unselfish player who often laid goals on for others to score in the days when there was no such statistic as an assist.
Very brave too, didn't pretend to be injured , like some modern players who when heading a ball away pretend they have a head injury lol

I think he scored 5 for us, 4 in the league & 1 in league cup on his debut, a couple of decent goals including 1 against Man Utd. The signing seemed to take ages & I think his knees were knackered. A terrible player considering he cost £800k.

I thought it was only 600K & Gallacher was then the record signing afterwards at 900K

He scored against QPR and Grimsby in the LC. Can't remember who all the league goals were against but he definitely scored 7 in total.

For a CF, he had a very good cross on him when he went wide.

I remember ATV midlands did a footballing piece where CF’s from midlands clubs hit a ball against a bench on its side, to see who had the most powerful shot. I think they had 5 shots each. Stein represented us, and never even hit the bench once… :ROFLMAO:

I hope he's better than other Brighton loans. Vik wasnt great until he was ours, there was that right back we had about 4 times and Ayari wasn't ready, dedpite obvious talent. Most seem to have made their minds up this guy is Donarumma already, let's hope they're right.

*Ostigard was decent tbf
Think most of us are just grateful it means it won’t be either of the two clowns we have at the moment.
