And Bobb broke his leg and missed pretty much the whole season. Getting Rushworth in is very sensible.
Of course it is sensible - it’s a good signing. And I wouldn’t rush Dovin back at all.

All I’m saying is that some players get back sooner than others and it’s not always a 1 year minimum for an ACL.
And using Rodri as an example - there’s no way Man City would have played him even for 8 minutes if there was a risk he wasn’t ready, even if he was back training.

I hope he's better than other Brighton loans. Vik wasnt great until he was ours, there was that right back we had about 4 times and Ayari wasn't ready, dedpite obvious talent. Most seem to have made their minds up this guy is Donarumma already, let's hope they're right.

*Ostigard was decent tbf

Didn't he already win supporters player of the year for Swansea in the championship? For a young goalkeeper that is pretty good going.

I think he wants us over Rangers as he wants regular first team footy, and with us its pretty much guaranteed next season. If he went to Rangers he may well be sat on the bench for most/all season.

I think this loan works well for both us and him

That's the best case for Dovin's long term development and future with us from his personal point of view

The best case for the club is we are flying in the league, which would likely mean Dovin can't get back into a winning team and spends the second half of the season as back up, which is what SBT was alluding to I think. If that scenario happens then it may raise questions about Dovin future with the club.
Best thing for the club is one keeper is

The championship is a better league than the Scottish pub league.

If we stay down Dovin becomes our number 1 again next season, if we go up we can afford to do with him what Brighton are doing with Rushworth I suppose and seeing if he can develop into a Premier League number 1.
That's all there is to it really.
As for this season, once he's fit he'll have to fight Rushworth for the shirt.

What about the LB we got on loan from Crystal Palace, who ended up going back to palace before even playing a league match for us? Im sure that's what happened but it was so long ago tho
