When Rushworth signs..that will be about 5/6 keepers in the squad. Surely at least 1 will leave ( Collins ). And another will surely go on loan in new year when Dovins back.

Bell will go out on loan again I'd imagine the club is actively trying to move Collins on.

i havent read the previous pages but i dont get this. we would have 2 top quality keepers, who you would imagine wont be happy at warming the bench. Its probably one of those positions you wouldnt really rotate.....

Getting Dovin fit again wont be as urgent now as it was before. I highly suspect if we cant shift Collins then he will remain as 3rd choice until the new year when we could potentially look to end his contract early when Dovin is back.

It's quite obvious really. The one quality keeper we have won't be available until the end of the year, and if we are serious about a play off push again, then we can't start the season and go 4 months with either Collins or Wilson, as they are simply not good enough.

No coincidence that our great winning run happened at the same time that Dovin found form. Likewise, to be fair to Collins, in the 23/24 season our good run came at the same time that he was in good form.

Even then it's a rehabilitation period. With O'Hare's ACL it was 10 months before he made an appearance from the bench and then he didn't start a game until December 2023 having been injured on Boxing Day 2022. Dovin was injured at the end of March, so 10 months brings you to the end of January 2026.

I'm not sure if a goalkeeper is even more vulnerable to reoccurrence too due to the nature of the position and movements they have to make. It seems to me that realistically Dovin is not going to be ready until well into 2026. We don't want to be in the position that he has to be rushed back.
