I think....

Marosi

Dabo McFadz Hyam McCallum

Kelly
Hamer Sheaf Shipley Giles

Walker

Set up to protect against their 3 behind the striker, Hoillet, Murphy & particularly Wilson are excellent at this level.

Don't see how it offers any attacking threat though which will likely play into their hands.

The general plan usually seems to be keep a tight first half and go for it in the second so expecting a 0-0 at HT and for O’Hare and maybe Max on in the second half

Has that tactic actually worked yet?

If that’s the formation though you play O’Hare surely?

It would have been nice to buy some players that fit alternate formations. Felt like we bought players just to fit a 5221 and now we are putting square pegs in round holes.

Sorry, formatting made it look like the box, that's not what I meant... Edited the post!

I'm thinking 4-1-4-1, men behind the ball

That’s probably a better bet with Giles and Shipley the 2 attacking midfielders.

Can't believe he's started Shipley again. I'm a big fan but he was very poor against Blues.

What's the wing/full back configuration going to be with Dabo, Giles and Sam in the side?
Sam at C/B in a 4 5 1?

To be fair, if it’s confusing us this much, imagine what Harris is thinking!

Will be good to see Giles in an attacking left attacking position. Can cause some damage.

Happy with team as I quite likes the new formation last game out

But prefer someone else for Shipley. Hopefully he has 1 of his good games tonight

Dear oh dear should have swallowed his pride and picked Baka up top .....at the least put Max up front with Walker....

I am really struggling to work out the formation maybe Shipley being played up front?
I'm guessing at a 4 1 4 1

Marosi
Dabo Fadz Hyam McCallum

Kelly

Shipley Hamer Sheaf Giles

Walker

That's the best formation I can come up with for this team,,,,,really hope I'm wrong but that is not a good starting xi picked imo by Robins
If it does not make us at least solid defensively which I am not sure it will questions need to be asked!

Looks set up for 4-5-1 and reverting to 5-3-2 second half Giles playing the old left wing position which for some reason is now called wide-left and Hamer the same on the right puts a lot of pressure on Walker to produce though...fingers crossed

Who was it who vehemently poo pooed the idea of Giles at AM? As shmeee mentioned, I’m more excited by the prospect of SBT tonight than the game with that line up

Put Hamer and Giles out of position, leave Walker on his own up front, job's a goodun

Giles to go at them with pace, rather than playing aimless long balls to Walker.

is it usual not to be able to get into IFollow this early before a game because it's not allowing me access

Yeah i said Giles could play ACM too there were quite a few who could not get it into their head space he could play there,,,,ah well let's see but people who have played the game could clearly see early on that it was an option....#just sayin

I agree

The guy is an attacking player with pace.

For the record, someone can quote me in this when we go 45mins without having a shot.........I prefer one up front, really don’t get the obsession with most people thinking two up front is automatically more attacking.

Giles strength is pace and crossing. Giving him license to play further up on wing. But there's only one goalscorer on the pitch.

I don't get the obsession with people saying others want 5-3-2 just because it has 2 up front

You know when we said we’ll stick with Robins through almost everything, does playing Shipley as a right winger count? Especially when we have the personnel on the bench to play the formation we’ve looked most threatening.
