Blaming SISU whilst no feasible alternative exists is pretty futile though, isn't it? I'm nearly past caring when it comes to CCFC as it is. Our best chances of a return to the Championship would have been at the first attempt as our funding beyond this season looks especially bleak-and yet with one of the highest wage expenditures in the division we're in the bottom 4.

Read my other post, I believe that sisu had an opportunity, that they chose to ruin.

The sisu alternative debate is done to death, you won't draw me on that one. They are here to stay, but my school report for them says 'could do better, they need to think before rushing in with.scisors and glue'

This season they've provided Fisher with one of the biggest budgets in the division-and it is being royally wasted. Just as when Ranson was entrusted to squander bigger sums in the Championship a few years ago.

I was at the game. After we scored we were under pressure for rest of the half, could hardy put two passes together, and Brentford deserved to score.

2nd half was more even, but they still had more chances and should have scored before the pen. But, Goldie forced a save from outside the box and we also hit the post.

Also, the ref/linesman missed what should have been a clear Cov thow-in literally 1 minute before the pen. If anyone else saw better I'll stand corrected. But the point here is fine margins. We were a just few inches away from winning it..! then they get a lucky break with the non-throw, go down and score.

At the least we could have easily got a point away to a decent side in this league. It's just bad luck.. not quite ready to slit my wrists yet!

And yeah I know we should be thinking to win these games - but Robins surely thinks the same - I guess that's why he brought on Cody instead of a defensive sub. And it nearly worked too. So roll on Orient I say..

Thorn 3 games 3 points = 1 point per game
Since sacking
11 games 8 points = 0.72 point per game
1>0.72

Shall we go through the math again or do you understand?

Robins has done marginally better than Thorn but as a whole since he was sacked we have done worse which is what dadgad said, we have done worse since Thorn was sacked

Agreed, but to ignore the mistakes they have made, and to keep blaming JUST thorn, is a bit like ignoring the reason for lady Godiva getting her kit off!

Time for bed, have a good evening..

Very disapointed to see the final score and I can only follow via the BBC Live text commentary so do not have all the facts.

It seems that tonight we had all the possession and few chances as opposed to the County match where we created a lot of chances. The worry from here is the conceding of goals in the last few minutes; is this a fitness issue? And is all the possession just around the defence?

I am as demorialised as anyone on here with our position but something has to be better than under AT; Robins has inherited a team that is clearly struggling for any kind of positive form and morale. The information I have suggests that we're not as bad as the results are showing but I do appreciate that it is results that matter at the end of the 90mins.

The mistake was trusting Thorn to identify players who have turned out to be disappointments-so yes, the blame lies with all three.

Waggot and Fisher should have ditched Thorn months ago. It was their responsibility. Leaving it to when they did was ludicrous.
Made no sense either as it has made Robbins's job twice as hard.
Soon the moronic fans will turn on him and so it goes on......
In my book the buck stops with senior management and since SISU have been here the only one who seemed to have a handle on how football works was Ranson.

Frankly anyone who acts as an apologist for Thorn deserves the club we have now got - he created the culture and anyone who tries to justify it is beyond reason.

We are where we are because of Thorn - or are you telling me that our position is now better since he waddled into position?

Would you take him back?

You already asked this question and I said no I wouldn't, my answer has not changed over the last 30 minutes. All I was saying is I don't get the Robins loving at the moment, I am here to back him but the way people talk about him compared to Thorn you would have to think he must be doing much better than the previous manager. Well so far he isn't, he is doing marginally better

I would also disagree we are here because of Thorn, from what I have seen so far nothing convinces me we would have done significantly better to stay up last season if Robins had been in charge

Robins needs time but if we are coming into mid December and we are not seeing any improved performances on a regular basis I would be concerned

Ranson made mistakes but I cannot believe that anyone thinks we're better off since he walked.
We seemed to have a strategy which involved taking a punt on potential. The decline since Ranson has been huge imho......he was the only one at Sisu who had any footballing pedigree.
I doubt he would have appointed Thorn, for instance.

Absolutely.

How can anyone do any better with no resources and hands tied behind their backs.

The sad thing is that it is almost impossible, now, for the manager to be given any help. At best, he will have to wheel and deal - but there is limited scope due to transfer windows.

I hate to say this but there are about 20 of them above us in L1 doing just that...i.e. Better

He appointed Coleman and was very willing to give him more time than most chairmen tend to these days-a major error in judgement which set things in place for further decline.

I must say though, despite my tears of despair over the last 35yrs - there has been much to laugh about. Not least the way we phrase our rantings on forums like this. Before we rant about others rants...read & let them sink in & think about them...then like me - revel in the funny bits!

Coleman (when he took the Wales job) suggested he was let down by SISU. It was when Sisu wanted to sell Thomas to Liverpool that both Boothroyd and Ranson left.
Shortly before Christmas we were in the playoffs.......ergo.....since Ranson we have dropped off the cliff.

Coventry played like a team who just didn't care , it was quite strange (we beat Crewe 5-1 and they still put a shift in). After the initial blip of conceding the 1st goal due to defenders falling asleep for an offside/onside call.

It was all Brentford with Paul Hayes missing loads of chances, Cov's best defender ,so much so that a section of the crowd cheered when his number came up to be subbed off...

Cov had 3 long range shots of note, one hitting the post and the other 2 being pushed away for corners, other than that i'm struggling to think of any other attacking chances

If Brentford had better strikers it could have been cricket score to quote the unfortunate Cov fan i brought to the game.

What did those of you who went think of Harry Forrester?
