Ps - have to say I thought Dabo looked totally out of his depth & a liability start if the season... and is now player of the season for me!

Strong, and determined in defence, and tries to go past people and get balls in. Never gives up. Quality player

You can’t answer as you know hes been average at best past weeks I like Godden but he doesn’t seem sharp or fit enough and had struggled in that lone striker role in recent weeks if this was Baka or Biamou we would be in meltdown

We need more from him he’s got to work the defenders better last couple games he’s not been at the races I don’t see many pulling me up on this but you ? Fleetwood Bristol & tonight non existent mate like I’ve said he may need a rest can’t argue with his scoring record at this level either I’ll add

Fair enough, we’re gonna need a few ready to come in- although I’m not calling for wholesale changes either.

There are a few strong reactions on here tonight but that’s completely understandable. I note a lot of people weren’t there, no issue with that, but tonight was one of those where the disappointment was 10 times worse in person.

The commentary won’t have done justice for how well we performed tonight and the unbelievable chances we missed. It also won’t have portrayed the incredible frustration post match and feeling of celebration to commiseration we suffered in the dying stages, twice.

Let people vent, the atmosphere was terrific, the fan-player camaraderie was brilliant and we absolutely deserved to win.

The team did us all proud which makes it all the more frustrating.

We played so well in both of the games against Birmingham, two games away from home against a team from a higher league. The players both played and worked their socks off. There was nothing embarrassing in that performance. We were the better team over both games and only just fell short. I think most City fans will only feel pride in their team tonight. A super effort from a super team. Well done City!

We are desperate for a quality striker who will put chances away for us. It'll be the end of our season as we can't afford to miss so many.
Going out tonight might be a blessing in disguise but disappointing.
I stand by my comments on Biamou, he's not really good enough yet none of his fellow strikers are either

Did you see his performance tonight? If you did then you will know how well he played.

Godden was poor tonight, I don’t think anyone can make an argument otherwise. I genuinely can’t think of one positive contribution. As I’ve said a few times, I’m not writing him off. Maybe he isn’t fit yet? But whatever the reason, he looked miles off where he needs to be tonight.

Baka on the other hand was fantastic. He did what some of us have hoped he could do; displayed all of his strengths and attributes at the same time. He wanted the ball, he linked play, he held it up, his movement was great, his first touch/technique was impressive, he harried defenders and he scored. History tells us he can’t do that consecutively or consistently, which makes it all the more frustrating.

People, including me, were calling for a Biamou-Godden strike force when we do play two up front, but based on tonight and the other opportunities they’ve had, Biamou-Baka create more problems.

Despite that, the issue for all our strikers is a lack of clinical finishing. Godden has two decent chances, Max had two clear cut chances and Baka had a decent half chance at the start.

We can’t solely blame them though, Westbrooke missed a sitter and Allen had a strong chance on the edge of the box he completely fluffed. And that’s just off the top of my head.

People calling for another striker the window has just finished and most people were happy with what we have, service is a problem with Godden the lone role I don’t feel is his ideal role but his record speaks for itself,we now are where we are if we can get them strikers all motivated and jostling for position it can only be a good thing Baka & Max looked out to prove a point tonight fair play to them both I say.

We now have to get the best midfield players playing together & for me that’s Kelly,Walsh,Allen in that midfield with the rest fitting in around them & forwards will benefit of this too.

I wonder what the statistics for that would be? I would say that the win ratio would be overwhelmingly in favour of the higher placed team. We played two games away from home against a team from a higher division, matched them goals wise over 120 minutes, but anyone at those games knows that we were the better team. Give credit where it is due.

I enjoyed it. I enjoyed seeing us more than match, at times out play a team from a higher division. It shows what a good team we are for the level that we play at and it also shows that, even at this stage, we might be able to compete at the level above. A performance to be proud of.

Unbelievable game, Brum unbelievably lucky and should feel worried about their relegation chances.

westbrook, max and godden all missing good chances that would have put the game to bed. We were miles the better team.

Max played well, o’hare and Walsh quality but I thought Allen particularly looked very good. Obviously Dabo is seriously pulling up trees now.

Perfect result in a way, much better team and our spirit is like the league 2 promotion season......and we don’t have to get spanked at Leicester.

You have spent the entire season complaining about Bakayoko and how he needs to be shipped out. Now you’ve started on Godden. It’s a good job that we have a manager who is far more consistent than some of the fans.

First 5 or 10 min. Took it too the side of the keeper then a very tame shot the defender cleared just in front of the goal. Any decent attempt not at the only player back there would of had us 1 nil up. Thought he had a good game other than that glaring miss.

Fuck off you arrogant prick. I'm allowed an opinion even if you dont agree.

Tonight twice 92nd and 120 minute
Oxford away 94th minute
Doncaster 93rd minute
Peterborough 95th minute
Sunderland 90th minute
(And also Milton Keynes 75th minute)

Theres a difference between coming back fro a goal down than defending a lead. Bad defending is caused by bad decision which is affected by nerves and making tired decisions, that's bottling it, especially when it's only a one goal lead.

We scored the equaliser against Doncaster in injury time. They scored earlier in the second half.

I think the opposite; naturally they’ll be disappointed to lose, but they should take confidence from outperforming a Championship team. We also lost on penalties, which while shit, is a lot better than being outplayed/thrashed in open play.

Genuinely think they’ll be proud of themselves and there’s probably a side to all/some which wants to focus on wining a league title.

Or they take the positives that they outplayed a championship side and build confidence from that.

Agree 100% We should all take into account we kicked off with SIX changes from the team that started the Bristol Rovers match, we took the game to Brum, for a second time on their own muck heap and it should have been put to bed long before their late first equaliser. Not that fussed going out more pleased we have shown we can compete with championship opposition. We can now fully concentrate on the automatics much more important. Got to pick ourselves up and go again starting Saturday with Bolton and smash ‘em and I mean that with respect to them.
Let’s all be positive and move on.

got to be this surely?
Have outplayed a Championship over 2 games and would have gone through but for poor finishing.
Lots of rotation over two games so everyone's played a part and it's shown that we can rest players without affecting performance. We keep going on about Pompey on a run and the Mackems on a run but we're on a great run, they should be worrying about us.

Football is a mad game
Had we hung on last night the forum would have been eulogising the whole team
As it was we were twice pegged back at the death and then lost on the lottery of penalties
It's a shame and very disappointing but there were a lot of positives on the night so we mustn't look for scapegoats but instead push on and try to win the division

Less worry for me than if we had got through. More minutes. Players potentially holding back saving themselves for “the big game” etc.
