I remember actually crying the first time I saw the co-pilot in Airplane.
Especially the scene when he flies the plane away at the end.

Don't think it would be as funny with a rewatch though, and not convinced they'll be able to replicate that type of comedy now with this remake

Are they remaking it AOM? Hmm, always wary of remakes, whatever the subject. Comedy wise, only think of disasters when something so old is done again, like Bilko or the Pink Panther, which is a shame because I quite like Steve Martin in original stuff.

Watched Airport 1975 the other day, it was on Legend or something, I'd seen it as a kid in the cinema so watched for nostalga. Quite a few moments when I laughed thinking of the Airplane scenes, like the stewardess playing the guitar or Captain Kramer being a micky take of Heston. I think it holds up pretty well as a slapstick kind of comedy and it led to Police Squad being made which I loved, but you're right how people and times change, we tend these days to appreciate more sophisticated comedies for their word play.

Sorry they're remaking Naked Gun, not Airplane.

Hopefully they leave Airplane well alone but I wouldn't be surprised if the new film is a success

Two cases in and the new series of 24hrs in Police Custody continues to be extremely difficult viewing, but incredibly sensitively and well done.

Without doubt the best in this genre of fly on the wall crime series.

Just caught up with the final series of Squid Game.
Seen the ending has been getting some stick online, but I thought it was actually okay.
Was always going to be hard to live up to the first series when the mysterious "games" were what was most exciting about it.

Not looking forward the hints towards a potential American spin off though...

The plot was a bit stupid imo. The 2nd series was good but felt the 3rd series struggled to tie up the story because the plot fragmented from a single protagonist.

We knew if he didn’t do ‘x’, then ‘y’ was going to happen. There was an interesting twist but even then that didn’t make too much sense imo. Sat watching I felt a bit disappointed.

I’ve kept it deliberately vague to avoid spoilers.

Yeah I do know what you mean. The dialogue didn't feel as good this series - Gi-hoon must only have said about 5 words per episode.
The boat storyline really dragged for about two series as well until the final episode.

Overall I did enjoy it, but it peaked in the first series where it was purely about the games imo.

Spoilers - Couldn't get past that weird CGI baby either...
