By all accounts he’s got a release clause at £3m. Not sure there’s much we could do.

Doubt very much it is anywhere near £3m

I put on another thread, this is exactly what I thought would happen. This stinks of us touting him out to anyone and everyone. Reporting top Premier League clubs are interested in him with a £3m buyout clause... In the end he will go to a Championship club for about £1m in a heavily structured deal. We will probably see about £400k up front and Robins won't see a penny.

Yeah and then I bet he’ll post a snapchat about how shit Cov are while he buttfucks someone in a sky blue Sam outfit.

(I mean if you’re gonna just make shit up)

You're saying no club has come in for Bayliss, yet he's apparently off to Preston, so another club has come in for him. Sheffield United rumoured to be interested too. No one will hold a gun to his head, if he wants to go then he will. Not sure what all the fuss is about.

City fans: we need to be sustainable and buy young players and invest in the academy

Also city fans: why are we selling all these young prospects for a profit???

Personally I would play Hiwula up front think he'll be our 15-20 a season guy.
He can finish and a cool head on him,Thats my view anyway.
Wasn't to bothered regarding Walker as Lincoln is local to him no moving etc..
and his mate plays there. We'd all do the same at a young age.

I think our fans are mad. We’ve lost since last January Clarke Harris, Chaplin, Thomas, bright and by the look of it Baylis

Essentially we’ve replaced them with a couple of overseas players who can be hit or miss

If it’s miss we are in real trouble - there’s zero chance of promotion.

Yep, utterly deflating.

As somebody who's is ambivalent about St Andrews I am starting to feel very much like I'll swerve it, can't see that the club's owners are keeping another side of the bargain as illogical as that may seem.

The said I'll wait and see what Robins does; if it's a few season long loans then that doesn't cut it

fair to say that if this happens then MR needs to be given a decent chuck of the money though it will probably be around 1M initially so even if he's given half he's not going to get much for his money.

But look at those players who have gone:

JCH was the biggest hit and miss
Chaplin only scored 8
Thomas missed absolutely loads
Bright was very good and provided end product so he is a miss.

We've added Allen who scored the same as Chaplin last year and he's a midfielder.
2 foreign players who it seems the recruitment team have done their homework on have made impact in pre-season.

Only last season we were slating the players who have gone saying how "JCH isnt good enough never going to score enough goals " and "Chaplin just isn't up to it", so we address that and are still hoping to address that by bringing in 2 players atleast who will add to the improvement we have attempted to make.

The proof ofcourse will be in the pudding, whether the new players deliver more than their predecessors, but I think we owe them the time and support to do that.

Yep, let’s hope they’re a hit but probably unlikely they will both be. I don’t get why last January Robins knew scoring goals was a problem, we actually have a recruitment department now but here we are 2 days before the season without a new striker

Yes but Bayliss is / was ours, as was JCH as was Chaplin. We're going backwards in the quality of our substantive squad

As well as the pace and endeavour of Thomas who took defenders with him due to his out and out pace.

Even Robins has pretty much admitted Biamou is not at this level and yet he’s one of only 3 available forwards and one of the others has a mediocre scoring record to put in mildly

My point is Allen got 8 so he has replaced Chaplins goals format year. We have Bimaou back who I'm sure will score the 3 that JCH got.

Any our business by all account is not done and we wmat 2 more attackers.

But I believe that Jobello and Kastaneer have been brought in to score more than what Chaplin and Thomas got between them.

In the bigger picture, JCH wasn’t a great loss at the time... Only since he’s gone on to do really well at Bristol Rovers people are bothered. As for Chaplin, I’m not 100% sure he’d be started tomorrow. Until we’ve seen Jobello and Kastaneer in action, it’s too early to say they’re an upgrade/downgrade on Thomas. Dabo is probably a similar player to Sterling in terms of quality (Sterling probably has a lot more potential).

Letting Bayliss go and no obvious replacement/alternative for Bright is where I’m most concerned to be frank.

Clarke Harris got 6 half way through the season - comparing a midfielders goals tally versus a forward is bizarre

We haven’t seen our new wingers in competitive action, but they’ve impressed so perhaps they can add real value to our team.

Hiwula has scored in and around 10 goals pretty much every season he’s played in L1. Scored 13 last year, I’m sure he’ll improve.

The problem is the losses are not sustainable - the gap is going to be massive - £2 - £3 million

The club is in serious trouble of collapsing

We lacked goals from midfield last year. Kelly and Bayliss managed 4 between them? Thomas got 5.

We need a at least 2 players who can score over 10 goals. Allen and Hiwula? We need more from Shipley, and hopefully one of the new wingers does well.

Why is it? All the goals count. We barely scored any from midfield.

Look at it this way then, kastaneer has been brought in to score and create, I'd assume more than what Chaplin did. So then treat Allen's goals as extra that we have added that we didnt have last year.

I agree we need a striker, and I think we will get one.

Bright scored 6 last season. So Allen would be his replacement - again we are looking at relying on a couple of overseas players who traditionally at this level fail more than succeed

The squad is clearly much weaker. If hiwula has an injury on day 1 and is gone for the season what then? We would be totally fucked

Every season to every lower league team. If there was an award for sweeping statement of the season. This would be an early contender

Thomas was better than people think. He gained yards with the ball at feet. Occupied 2 defenders and created space on the pitch for other players to waste.
