They're in the NL for a reason. Stockport were comfortably the best team in the NL last season but are bang average in L2 this season. Money doesn't instantly translate to quality. We should be beating these 3/4-0 any day of the week. Maybe a tough tie if we were away but not at home.
Yep. Like I’ve also said…we should expect to win this one.

Some people seem to have translated me suggesting that Wrexham are possibly league 1 level as ‘l think we’re going to lose’.

For the record…I think we should be beating them…and any league 1 teams for that matter.
There are also league 1 teams and there are league 1 teams ie FGR < Ipswich Town.

Also think people are underestimating the celeb factor. My missus who couldn’t give a shit about football was interested in going cos she loves Ryan Reynolds and so has heard of Wrexham. Comparing them to Boreham Wood is a bit disingenuous. People like novelty. Not saying it’ll be a sellout but should get more than pretty much any other NL or L2 side I’d have thought.

4 weeks later we played stoke in the next round and had 15K there. My point was no one is bothered about watching non league teams.

And that 14/15k was made up of nearly 3000 Stoke. We were at such a low that we could only muster 11k against a PL local side.

We now get crowds bigger than that against Rotherham on a Tuesday night in October.

I'll be going because I live relatively locally and because it's 'Ryan Reynolds' Wrexham'.

I think the latter will put a couple of thousand walk ups on the gate.

Derby attendance last year was disappointing but expected after all the nonsense of the league game.

I'm going for 14K, 4-0 win, Spurs away in the 4th round and a selfie with Deadpool himself in the casino.

Does he play for them too?

Also important to remember that according to several fans on here, this game is more important than England in the World Cup final. Would expect a crowd of 80-90,000.

On the Coventry fan forum site I'm reading their thoughts on playing a "non-league team" who we should comfortably beat so the prediction goes. Not a clue of the background or where we are now, and the team that's been assembled by Parky. Such an arrogant bunch of f***s, Coventry are in turmoil at the moment, the club, and infrastructure, and not a pot to piss in, Wrexham are financially a long way ahead of Coventry at present and give us 3 seasons could be waving bye bye to Coventry as they go in the opposite direction. If we play to the standard thats now coming to the fore we could run them very close.

Personal favourite from their forum. I would love us to play Hamer and Vik and take them to pieces. Would make good viewing on Disney next year.

Vik and Hamer are worth more than their club ffs

In my opinion we are never gunna win the cup so why wear out our players. Give the backup players a game, maybe they can work their way into contention and get their fitness up or impress to get a move away from the club which can help us get them off the books

Watching Wrexham Vs York at the moment. They are a decent team as you expect from the players/money they brought in from league one. But if there midfield plays anything like they are today against us, Hamer, sheaf, Palmer, O'Hare will have a field day.

Classic Phil Parkinson team bypassing the midfield whenever they can. Their away from is also pretty poor.

Difficult not to laugh really .

Absolutely none of what he's said is true

The gap between the 5th tier and the 2nd tier is absolutely massive

Mullin who has 40 in 58 for them , is 28 and has only ever played 20 matches above league 2 level and scored 3 in those 20 in league 1 , he'd be playing in our u23s as the "older player" , blokes had 3 good seasons in his career

They also have the shit mcfadzean

They are currently the 4th best team in Wales, let's be real here

However , it's the cup, and anything can happen

The non league superstars who are 'basically league one standard' aren't even top of the conference anymore.

But how can they only draw away at York if they've got players that are on the same level as Coventry City .. Must be hard to take , manager underperforming ?

I thought they looked okay the first 20 mins but after that period they were awful. All they do is play the long ball and hope to get a throw in the opposite half for Tozer to launch it in the box. No game plan at all and baring in mind York have not won in eight games now. They also looked absolutely shattered at the end.

Agree with all the above but history tells us Cov City and lower league clubs including non league ain’t a good mix

Don’t think it’s more important but I personally give more of a shit about this match, like I do every match, because it’s City - even if England win I’d be so meh about it (hopefully they don’t though)
