Incidentally saw them away at Salford City about 3 to 4 years ago. They brought quite a lot to Salford. They had playing that guy from Burton we had as a striker, name escapes me. He was on loan from Coventry and he was was truly abysmal that day.

I didn’t think a set of fans could get more deluded than Sunderland, Wrexham would seem are giving them a run for their money.

Interested to know who Peter believes in our squad is on par with theirs

This lot are non league btw. Amazing what a Disney document and celeb owners can do to the ego.

I don't mind getting a non-league team in the third round, esp at home.

Shame it's prob the best non-league team at the moment so is very much a potential banana skin, but if we play a decent team we should have more than enough to beat them comfortably.

Could get TV, given the 'glamour' of Wrexham's owners + I think it'll be seen as a decent potential for a 'giant-killing'.

They're managed by Phil Parkinson ffs.

Robins ball will give him motion sickness.

Wrexham were UEFA cup quarter finalists in 1970s.
My mum is from Wrexham so all my cousins are coming down.
Bumped into group of them on the lash at Baker Street pub in London 2 weeks ago. They were all smashed at 11am on their way to play Wealdstone. Reminded me of Cov lads on way to MKDons Cup tie a few years back. Expect a few Anglo-Welsh pleasantries and they hate Chester City.

Worst draw I can think of for me. My best mate out here is Wrexham and a bar owner. Already saying they will bring 6k plus. Has offered to pay for us both to go to the game, flights etc. He knows loads of players and management at Wrexham and they are already well up for it. If we lose to them I will never hear the end of it. FFS Cov, please don't screw this one up.

Have we ever played a weakened side in the third round under Robins?

We aggravated Dabo’s injury just to make sure Reid didn’t enter the pitch last time out.

ffs we should not even consider being worried about this

Moore, Dabo, Kelly, Palmer. Waghorn, Walker, Tavares all to get game time

and if they are not good enough to beat a team of non league players, then we have problems

This is how I see it.

My Missus' cousin lives just outside Wrexham and has got a season ticket there this year as all his mates there are Wrexham fans and they're selling out their home games and travelling in numbers away. They'll definitely bring a good few thousand and will be a big day out for them and Wrexham can be a bit of a rough old place so no doubt they'll be a few big old North Walians happy to engage with our "coked up chavs".

Paul Mullin should be playing at a higher level and if you believe the stories he moved to Wrexham because of the "Ryan Reynolds factor" and supposedly agreed very decent wages plus also agreeing to fly him out to the States and giving him the full VIP treatment but again that could be bollocks.

Make it cheap tickets, try and get a decent crowd up there and should be a good tie!

I’m sure I’ve read somewhere that FFP doesn’t apply in the NL and teams like Wrexham can outspend L1/2 clubs.

Your point about Mullin stacks up. Bangs 30 odd goals in L2 for Cambridge who then get promoted to L1. Drops to non-league at aged 26 rather than play L1. That’s not normal.

Not an easy fixture, looks like they’ve got a few players who should / could be playing higher.

No way we rest players for this, if we did they wouldn’t play for two weeks and Robins is always on about momentum and runs of games being important.

This is right. They’re going to be better than most league 2 teams. It’s probably right to think of them as league 1 opposition.

Wrexham fan here. Looking forward to playing you, I know a lot aren’t absolutely buzzing with the draw but I think as a non league side getting to the third round, the hope is always to get one of the huge clubs but you’re setting yourself up for disappointment that way. Anything that wasn’t Boreham Wood or Chesterfield was a bonus for me.

Don’t think any of our fans are truly expecting to win, especially as our away form isn’t the best but as said above we’ve got League 1 level players for the most part, a couple could make an argument for your league but hard to gauge.

We will bring a good few for this, 5-6k does sound about right given our attendances and given your size and it seems quite easy to get to. Train strikes that weekend might put a dent in it though unless it’s moved to Sunday.

Fingers crossed tickets are fairly cheap and you get a good few in and a decent atmosphere but obviously a non league tie in the FA Cup third round isn’t that exciting. Looking forward to it anyway, any pub suggestions give me a shout, not a lot around the ground from what I’ve heard?

ffs if you think a non league team has a couple of championship level players you really are smoking something . If you even had mostly league 1 players you would be more than a solitary point ahead of Notts county
I would suggest at best top half of league 2 is about the level

yes you may beat us, as it is your cup final, and anything can happen in a one off (and we have history with lower league opposition) but to suggest you are any where near League 1 level is ludicrous

County are a good side with quality players themselves, the quality of the league has improved massively over the years but no point trying to convince you of anything. We’re a decent team with players from League 1 is all I’m saying.

Believe me it isn’t our cup final, we’ll take a good number and it’ll be a decent day out but promotion is all that really matters, this is a nice distraction though.

I remember when we were pissing L1 and we’re convinced half our squad would make it in the Championship. I think arguably three or four actually did. The step up is huge and players who look the business in L1 were way out of their depth at this level. Moreover the speed of the game is a different level entirely, similar I’d imagine to the step up from here to the Prem.

Got a soft spot for you guys and hope you do well and I’d expect a tough game just because you’ll play above yourselves but I think you’d be in for a shock if you just dropped your team into even L1.

Oh don’t get me wrong I don’t think this team would cut the mustard in League 1. We’d need quite a few upgrades and probably a new manager but we’ve some League 1 quality players is all I’m saying. Just be happy getting out of the NL before worrying about all that anyway.

Yeah all I’m hoping is we give a good showing of ourselves, may be a boost in confidence for the rest of the season if we do.

Got a couple of mates who are Cov fans so keep an eye out for your results too, very much looking forward to this one.

Not sure about that..
Dabo
Hyam
Fadz
Godden
Rose
Allen
O'Hare

All big players in the League 1 promotion season, and all more than capable at Championship level.

Yes I think it was a great draw for us, as long as we don't lose. At home, potentially decent crowd, possible tv money, potentially interesting match and a good chance of advancing. Much better than a big day out at Spurs or Old Trafford in my view. Get through a couple of rounds and it gets far more interesting.

By the sounds of it we will need to be careful and certainly not play a weakened team.
