I agree it hasn't been a closed shop up to now but moving forward in the PL it is likely to become so, as there will be no opportunity for persons to gain enough points through the ballot to break into the 1500+ grouping. It will be a case of waiting to fill dead mens shoes, with younger supporters who want to start going to away games unable to break into that that grouping.

Also, while not quite systematic there can be no denying there has been an element of points preservation at the top end by persons either looking to sell on their tickets, or in the case of Millwall last year, and probably Plymouth this year of buying tickets and not even attending.

Ultimately the club is in a no win situation though, as there is no obvious way of pleasing everyone, and the current situation is about as fair as they can get it I guess, even though I would like those that take up tickets with no intention of attending penalised in some way or other.

We have never took less than 100 fans to a League away game in recent times I would be confident in saying that

The smallest CCFC away end I can remember being a part of was Sheffield United a few days after the Checkatrade Final and there could not have been more than 200 of us there

With the people not going it assume it would be possible (though maybe not practical or efficient) to basically take the tickets that haven't been used and remove the points for them.

Now it's more likely that demand will see that anyone that does buy a ticket solely for the points (especially away games against lower league opposition and therefore smaller allocations) will be able to sell/pass on said ticket so it does get used. Home cup games maybe not.

Where do you live? There are trains at 23:00 and 23:30 to Cov from Euston after the game which in theory you should be fine to make - But unless you leave The Emirates 5/10 mins before the end you will be queueing for an age at Arsenal tube station after the game and it is all of a sudden touch and go

I am undecided what to do, I can stay at a mates after the game but I am tempted to drive down to Cockfosters or Oakwood at the top of the Piccadilly Line and just tube in/out and drive home after the game

How many people leave work Friday and go "It's midweek, so I'm having a few drinks to celebrate!"?

Last train to Bournemouth is 23:30 from Waterloo, which would give around 90 minutes to leave game, fight for the tube and if missed be booking hotel at a premium.

Trains should run til 1/2am, we pay enough for them. London isn't as straight forward as it appears sometimes.

Checks out eitherway, our support in the back end of our first Championship stint did dwindle a lot, I remember an away game against Burnley midweek and we barely took 200 fans there (McSheffrey scored a worldie)

Our away support actually benefitted from getting relegated, those first two years people were going to new grounds and obviously the Sixfields season away games were the only games some people were attending
