When you read the article there is absolutely no substance to it. No quote from mclaren or newcastle just a journalist speculating
Best thing for us would be if they sack Mclaren and bring in a decent manager who knows the kid would be best playing out the season here.
I know, but it breeds discontent - if anything, the CT should actually investigate and quash the bullshit, instead of copying articles from a rumour mill.

I don't see the problem myself. The CT is a newspaper and it is their job to report on stories. It could be argued that it was bad journalism to not put a story in about something relative to our club that is being carried in the national newspapers, couldn't it?
Did anyone see SSN last night, they were talking about AA for ages saying NUFC should take him back in Jan and put him at least on the subs bench. The only one who said they should leave him to learn his trade playing proper games in front of a decent crowd was Charlie
And Jeff to be fair, he argued the point for him to stay. Most of this came from Cottie which is exaclty where I thought this rumour came from when I saw it in the sun. nothing new here i would say jsut reporting off the back of a SSN conversation

Not that fased should Newcastle take AA back, first if they see him as the answer to their problems at 18 with just a few third division games to his name McClaren deserves the sack. From our point of view like all I want him to stay but should he go I have every confidence TM has that possibility well covered and I think would replace AA with a more than capable alternative. Don't get me wrong I am willing him to stay, he deserves his medal but losing him will not be the end of the world

It is headed up "rumour mill". If you don't like rumours, especially negative ones, why give it ant time? It is also mentions that TM is in constant discussions, which balances out the rumour. "balanced reporting" some may say. Make up your own mind, but for some to take it to conspiracy level is ridiculous.

Yup, Ben Turner would be playing for Forest Green Rovers and we would have sent Jacob Murphy back to his parent club.
The only way to put these rumours to bed is for Newcastle to start scoring and winning some games...however Newcastles next 5 games:
Palace away, Liverpool home, Spurs away, Vile home, Everton home
It is hard to see many points aside from Vile there... the pressure will build for sure.
If McLaren is still at Newcastle then I think he has an obligation to at least take a look at him when the loan expires, even if he ends up sending the lad back. If McLaren gets the sack, whomever replaces him probably has to take a look at him too.
But I am not actually that concerned. If we are still top or in touching distance in January then there will be plenty of other loans available to Mowbray however it won't be a youth player it will be a "known" striker that comes into finish the job - might cost us a few bob, but hopefully the additional revenue from the gate receipts will more than cover it. Murphy has also shown that he is a more than adequate replacement if needed, and if he is playing up front then we have Maddison (maybe Cole?) to slot into midfield.

I expect a degree of journalistic integrity from the CT I.E. NOT to publish any old rumour and sow seeds of discontent in the fan-base. Rather, reassure the fans that it's basically a chinese whisper of sorts and has no foundation whatsoever.
This is not 'news' it's click-bait, a rumour based on some column-filler that some underling at the CT read in a daily rag.
And this is just another lazy thread repeated every week by posters who dont want to hear anything then moan why were we not told this before.

There is a rumour and CT reported it as such. They then quoted TM to give a balance. They did not go into great investigative journalism, probably because, as it says " rumour mill ". I can imagine that they want clicks and you probably got them a few more.
