Probably one of the few who will leave this pandemic physically better than I went into it.

At least I can walk around again now and my sleep pattern is showing signs of getting back to what can be considered to be close to normal.

It has been one hell of a roller-coaster ride.

Yeah been through the hoops, just waiting on call backs now. Weird thing is it isn't that painful so I'm not priority but half of my tooth is out and if they don't stick it back in then it is going to become painful.

That's what I'll do if they don't sort me out with something.

I’ve been really fortunate to keep my job the whole time and be able to work remotely. I actually binned off my lease and moved to a warmer much cheaper place and I feel like my morale has skyrocketed.

The reason I’m saying they is winter blues is fucking dog shit at the best of times never mind when you’re trapped inside and can’t go to a restaurant or pub or whatever to socialise. This must be making already challenging times even harder for many. It’s so hard to think ahead but the vaccine is on the rollout and hopefully a vast amount of the population will be vaccinated and this will coincide nicely with lighter days and warmer weather and we can all look forward to that!

Lots of people have been without work for so long and or had a huge dip in turnover. Is anybody really struggling financially?

Keep it spotlessly clean. It will probably become painful only if it gets infected. I'd consider getting a supply of antibiotics from the Online Clinic. Will cost 40 quid, but you might find them a god-send.

edit - if other sources don't come though

My fucking tooth has fallen apart and a dentist won't treat it as an emergency appointment because I'm not in serious pain even though I've literally got bits of it on the table.

Right had the same - rang up 2 days later and said I was in agony - they temporary filled it - then got an infection ( sorted with antibiotics ) had to go in to have the root canal drilled - now waiting for a non Covid nurse so he can finish - appointment has been canned twice

Yes, it's very easy, and which is why there has been some criticism of such services in terms of freely available antibiotics. It's a very good service. First time round you'll have to answer a lot of health questions but then just a few Q's around your current problem. They will only prescribe if you confirm that you can't get an immediate appointment and that you agree you will do this/or have one some days away (they don't check of course, other than by a perfunctory email question), which is fair enough.

The actual cost is more like 35 quid, and whilst antibiotics are cheap as chips, 35 quid for having a qualified doctor on hand to prescribe the drugs, to have these sent to you by 24 hr post, the running of the platform, profit etc, makes it a fair charge in my eyes.

Online Clinic is absolutely pucker, so have no concerns whatsoever in ordering from them. Used them 4 times over the years, excellent service each time. They are regulated, and have a Good rating from the QCC.

The Online Clinic is rated "Excellent" with 4.7 / 5 on Trustpilot

I have quite a few caps and very occasionally I can get a food trap issue if I haven't been keeping strictly on top of things, so I always make sure I have a supply

Coming to this a bit late but excellent post Paxman. Sorry to hear about your businesses and, joking aside, I hope it is not too long until you are reunited with your boat.

I was really sad to read some of the stories above. There is excellent advice here from some great and caring people. Definitely it is always good to share your worries with others and do seek professional advice where needed. It's really important to get that advice as soon as you need it. Those services are there for everyone's benefit. Sometimes you need to be persistent to get the care and support you need but it is worth fighting for what you need.

Like everyone I have had my challenges during this period. Because of a lifetime health condition I am in the extremely vulnerable group and have had to shield most of the time. I didn't leave my home for the first three months of the original lockdown. I have been told that I would be unlikely to survive if I catch covid. I go out now but for exercise only and have to avoid contact with other people so stick to quiet areas. My wife is the only person I speak with in person.

I do miss family and friends a lot. However, I know I am lucky in many respects. I have been able to work from home throughout this period and I find my job fulfilling. However, it has been exceptionally stressful and busy at times.

I find having new things to focus on helps. I have been learning Spanish for example in the hope that one day I will be able to travel somewhere where I can use it. I find that it is important to feel you have something to look forward to.

Given the likely restrictions I think starting with From A Distance would be most apt.

And the first rendition should begin "We can't sing together"
