No £10/week. You aren't going to be seeing them at HOME all that time (& quite possibly more) anyway, so what that would buy you is a stake in the Arena value & operating profit initially, & then the club dependent upon how long SISU MIGHT resist selling the club. 5yrs was a generous estimate.

I guess the major flaw could be that out of the missing 10k who rue the loss of their much loved club, only a small percentage are prepared to actually do something like putting real commitment in for fear of losing out.
Just as the title & my initial post said...a crazy idea...but from small acorns grow & all that.

I'd rather try and buy the club for that money to be honest. Give Sisu a way out and return to the Ricoh on better terms.

I just think £10/week for a stadium with no team is a bit silly. But I'd happily put that forward for a stake in the club itself.

The club's not worth buying, however, I'll cover your £10 a week towards the stadium.

Fuck me if the club's not worth it, what's the point? Are we just waiting to go bust?

Quite simply as it stands the club is worth I believe an estimated £60m. That's because all the time the Ricoh is a potential purchase...SISU would only even begin to consider selling it at that price.
So obviously, if the Ricoh can turn a profit without the club...it's a worthwhile purchase.
I'm already getting fed up of saying this for some - £10/week (average) with 10k fans that're missing from watching HOME games leads to £5.2m in a year. As someone else already suggested - some more financially stable people might even put lump sums in for a bigger stake. Once there is enough - attempt the purchase.
After buying the Ricoh, SISU MUST build their new shed, or, as I believe is more likely, having lost their prize...they'll sell for a much reduced price tag. The club's assets are very limited. The spite factor does come I to all this however. They could follow through on a new shed - in the hope of ruining the new stadium owners. Then spitefully sell the club to another, &/or sell all the players first!
Or they might be nice & sell cheap to cut losses...but remember - legal eagles will not come cheap to beat them at their own game & they will offer legal proceedings at every twist & turn.

If a Co-operative of fans bought the Ricoh it would have nothing to do with sisu--so legals would
be of no concern.
Also bear in mind we would own the development land as well which should bring us a massive return on our outlay.

Well that's the apparent level of investment thus far (depending who you believe) by SISU. Are you suggesting they'd value the club & their investment at less than that? I doubt they would!

Well the last offer their received was £1.

The Southampton owner bought Southampton and the stadium for £13m, there's no way we're worth worth £60m. They will value their investment as £60m (or whatever) but that's because the money is owed to them as liabilities, but the club itself is virtually worthless, just like when sisu bought it in 2007.

We all know that - I thought I was dealing with someone incapable of thinking it through.
My point was that you will likely not be able to buy the club for less than £60m whilst there's a chance of SISU getting the Ricoh at a knockdown price. Buy the Ricoh & CCFC valuation by SISU becomes more realistic...OR they have to build a new stadium & try to win back the fans big-time.
