I don't want to go on about it like some that have been negative on everything all summer and there's little point in repeating how disappointed you are every 2 minutes in slightly different ways but I do want to pick up on one point here..Regardless of how we or who paid it, I definitely think it was a curveball.
Even before the stadium, it was pretty clear we needed to sell somebody before buying.
We've balanced the books nicely now. I know people won't like that because there's a clear desperation to get promoted.
I don't think it's clear we needed to sell somebody at all. Even before Sheaf went we knew we'd bid on Hughes and Godo. If we're conservative and go lower end let's say £12 mil for the pair. Then we sold Sheaf. You're talking over £15 mil of transfer funds that were available to the manager going unspent I would think. Something fell down on the recruitment side, no question at all.
