King isn't going to do anything to put the club in trouble. If we buy him it will be a price the club is comfortable with so don't worry about it. Why develop someone else's player instead? So correct me if I’m wrong but Hughes would become our highest purchase of all time at 12 mil? I would rather we go for loans then break our sensible transfer policy of the last 5 years.
I think the business case for each player is likely to be different so it probably doesn't work that way.I’m probably in a minority of one, but if we do somehow have £12m available, I’d rather spend it on a couple of £4m defenders for strength in depth. Only takes a pulled hamstring and we are back to walking a tightrope for a number of weeks
But we're trying to improve our best 11?I’m probably in a minority of one, but if we do somehow have £12m available, I’d rather spend it on a couple of £4m defenders for strength in depth. Only takes a pulled hamstring and we are back to walking a tightrope for a number of weeks
That’s fine, but I just don’t think the player is worth that value. As others have said, I would rather invest in two players with that money who we can develop with good coaching. We’re not a poor club, but let’s not pretend we’re Birmingham, Wrexham or a parachute club.King isn't going to do anything to put the club in trouble. Finally we're becoming a real club again.
Tbf we had posters going on and n about how we didn't spend 4.3m on KKH to not be a starter. If anyone thinks we are spending £10m on a CH to put him on the bench behind Thomas and Kitch then they are bat shit bonkers ….
I’m still unsure 12m if we have that money is best spent on a cb who is 21 years old. I get the investment side but it’s a big outlay for a young cb from Hull.
I back whatever they deem fit and Doug has completely earned my trust but seems a bit wild to smash our club record fee on a young cb.

Stats?Kitching is fairly shit by defensive metrics in champ so I think he has to be upgraded.
This is stupid though. Loans are guaranteed to lose you money as you’re paying wages/loan fee with no potential sale in the future. Hughes at 21 years old is almost a guaranteed profit at the end of itSo correct me if I’m wrong but Hughes would become our highest purchase of all time at 12 mil? How does it work if we offer Hull players in a swap? Are they able to do that. I know they can only sign loans and free’s
We don't know what we are. If we're bidding it, we can afford. Why are people on here telling the club what they can afford? That’s fine, but I just don’t think the player is worth that value. also we improve or depth by improving the first team as the player how drips out the xi is likely better than the current back upBut we're trying to improve our best 11?
If this is true, then why would Hull sell?Hughes would go for more than 15m to prem in year or two even if we signed him and failed to get promoted.
current issues? plater desire? there's loads of reasons why clubs sometimes have to sell at a sub optimal timeIf this is true, then why would Hull sell?
I think even with Bassette we’re likely to make money on any sale a la Binks. We have to trust the club and the recruitment department, they haven't made any big mistakes until we panic bought Bassette and even then you can see he has attributes that could take him into a decent career if he sorted out his attitude.
Because of the underlying reason for the embargo which is cash flowDon't think Swansea were under a transfer embargo ,so why sell your best defender when all you can bring in is free transfers.
If anyone thinks we are spending £10m on a CH to put him on the bench behind Thomas and Kitch then they are bat shit bonkers ….
It’s the reason they don’t want to, but if the player wants to go and the club needs money, they might be forced to sell.If this is true, then why would Hull sell?
I didn’t say we couldn’t afford it, I said I don’t think it’s a good investment which is different. Yes, Darnell Furlong isn’t a great, but two 6 mils would seem a to follow the strategy that has worked for us so far.We don't know what we are. If we're bidding it, we can afford. Why are people on here telling the club what they can afford?
They'll stop at a point they aren't comfortable and they'll move on if need be, but all signs point to another bid.
We obviously have ambition to go up, the club have identified Hughes as a player with massive potential. Let them do their thing. Saying 'buy 2 £4 million players' is meaningless. Darnell Furlong went for £4 million yesterday and that one is a big no from me.
But again, i'm not trying to argue, 'two 6 mils' means absolutely nothing. Its just placing a number on something. The club have identified their target and are going for it, good for them. If another club in the league made this signing everyone would be like fair play for the ambition, when its us everyone gets scared that we might finally spend a few quid.I didn’t say we couldn’t afford it, I said I don’t think it’s a good investment which is different. Yes, Darnell Furlong isn’t a great, but two 6 mils would seem a to follow the strategy that has worked for us so far.
Hull fans unsure why Hughes would want to move sideways to a team like us
The owner or outside investment, it doesn't really matter. We're well within the spending rules. I suspect certain other clubs aren't.12 million is the rumour for a defender have we gone mad.How are we likely to pay for this selling MVE maybe. But if he doesn't move where is the money coming from.
