This isn’t true.

the model is not that we will only ever buy players with a big sell on value. Just as it isn’t for Brighton who have Milner and Wellbeck.

The model is we will invest predominantly in players we can improve and sell for a profit to fund further investments and we will add experience where it makes sense to improve our chances of promotion.

The big pay day for owners is owning a Prem League team the transfer business in between is just how you try and fund getting there !

If we get to the Prem I expect Doug to try and sell the club at that point.
Not true?

Before Grimes.....and Lampard, we spent money on younger players that could gain in value. Grimes was 29 and cost us 3.5m. There's no way we will ever get our money back.

We don’t need the money thankfully the club is run the right way. King isn’t the kind of person to sell at a loss or break even. He will want a strong profit and Lampard wouldn’t have come here if there had been any concerns around spending and adding additional strength.
If this is the best opportunity to get a fee for MVE he will take it. Lets not be daft.

Bogert is very well known in MLS and will have a better idea of whether a player like Pereira is on the verge of getting sold than anyone on here.

A bidding war for MVE is just what we need.

Conversely his agent having to make up vague stories because there’s no interest isn’t. So depends what it is.

So we should sell our best players and not make a penny on them?

If you want our best players you need to meet our value. He isn't about to be out of contact. There's no forced sale here.

For the sake of argument if he’s on £15k say then Lampard might want to use that elsewhere.

He even says in a podcast a few days before that’s he’s going to get in contact with the main people at Austin, to tell them to not sell him to us till after the all stars game. So yeah he’s got proper contacts
what does that prove against what i actually said?

i said i feel he is not being told the truth

So we reject £6m and he stays. We don’t go up and he has a year left on his contract and all we can get is a few mil for him. Which do you think bling does?

Exactly. I’d never heard of the bloke or his ridiculpus moustache. People trying to claim they know of his legitimacy is hilarious. He clearly knows people in the US game

If if but but.

We heard all this noise a couple of years ago. Then Gyokeres and Hamer were nearly worthless as they only had a year each left on their contracts.

I had the piss taken out of me constantly because I thought we might get £15m for Gyokeres and £10m for Hamer. Even I had devalued them.

The value of a player is somewhere between what someone is willing to pay and what the club which has the player under contract values the player as. €6m for a player so important to us with a sell on clause that puts us just about making a small profit isn't good business. If a club wants him they have to make a bid we're happy with.

At what point did anyone think we would get less than £15m for Gyokere?

Do you really think we've signed KKH as back up to MvE ?
He's been signed because after MvE he's about as good as there is out there at our level .
Milan is going , we just need King to work his bargaining magic
