Watching PSG on Saturday makes you realise how important it is to have wide players that track back and put tackles in, like Sakamoto does, and to a lesser extend EMC.

Wright does not do that, he's too passive and was useless as a sole striker at the back end of the season. For that reason I think he gets moved on if a good offer comes in.

This is by far Sakamoto’s best attribute. If they can coach EMC to do similar things and bring in someone who has a similar work rate with more ‘magic’ in the final third… we’ll be laughing.

Haji Wright will leave if we got a bid that we couldn’t refuse, that’s the same as any player. At a minimum, we should be doubling our money from that transfer for it to make sense.

Haji Wright tracks back a hell of a lot more than EMC

Any decent realistic potential signings knocking about in the Dutch league, preferably another gem like Gus and MVE?

29 if you include the playoffs.
Still only 12 goals 5 of which were in 2 games. Hardly irreplaceable

Are strikers not allowed to score more than 1 goal in a game now?! 😂

He was the joint 6th top goalscorer in the league having missed a quarter of it. Haji had one of the best minutes per goal ratios in the league.

Utter madness.

Of players to score 10 goals or more he had the 2nd best mins/goal ratio.

Only Tyrese Campbell had better. He was joint second with Piroe.

(on regular season only, the playoffs watered it down a little for him).

If playoff form was everything, Vik failed to score in 3 games.

If Haji Wright leaves this summer, we’ll be cashing in a large cheque for him. He is a top end striker in this league.

He didn’t have the best run of form to close out the season but as a team, our xG and form as a whole dropped off.

2bf to Vik he assisted the two goals we did score in that campaign whilst occupying the whole Middlesbrough defence and Luton’s

Correct, and Haji Wright occupied the Sunderland for both our goals. These aren’t ‘assists’ per se and there isn’t anything that measures this, but it gave the space for Rudoni and EMC to score their goals.

Admittedly, I’ve not watched the 2nd leg back. For Rudoni’s goal, there were 3 defenders around Haji which gave Rudoni the space to get in front of all the players around him.

It’s a deliberate tactic because Rudoni praised Simms for it post-match after one of the home matches Rudoni scored a header.

The hate for him based on one bad game in playoffs is crazy

I think the main issue with wright is - well my issue is that I can forgive the last month or so. Haji Wright is our best player - if he was ever going to turn up I was convinced he would in the biggest games of the season. I’ve said it previously I think it’s more disappointment for the fanbase.

when the season starts again. I’ve no doubt Wright will be on form again.

Id be amazed if Wright, Simms, BTA or Norman are all still at the club come 1st game of the new season. Its an area i think FL will want change and improvement, could be a few weeks yet before we hear anything but im sure Doug and FL already know any potential targets and any values they have on the current squad.

They will not get rid of the entire strike force. You’re better than this
