Who? Give me a name on who we could get for £10m who would be guaranteed better.
You're talking about turning down Hamer money for Haji.
I know they're different positions but Hamer was worth so much more than Haji as a player in our squad, you must see Haji differently to me.

Guarenteed goals over a season is worth a lot of money, strikers are more expensive than holding midfielders
I get that, but I stand by Hamer being worth more than Haji in our squad.

I'm not saying Haji isn't or cannot be a good striker for us, just that if someone offered us £15million for him my opinion is we can use that money better than keeping him.

I think my limit would be 10m. If someone offered us 10m plus then for me he has to go. Something isn’t right with him….. to make a profit and 2 decent seasons out of him must be considered a success.

Gus had a year left on his contract. Wright has up to three.

You genuinely dont think we can spend £15 million on better?

He's had moments of excellence, sure, but nowhere near consistent enough to not rip someones hand off for £15m.
We can pick up a striker who will be as good for £10m and have £5m for other additions. Absolute no-brainer IMO.

This is getting ridiculous. He’s not consistent? He’s scored 10+ goals every season he’s played for us.

You’re not getting much better or much consistent with the sums you tout.

People questioned whether we’d get £15+ million for Vik and they were just wrong.

Let's say Wright goes for 15 mill. We've doubled the money in 2 seasons, it's what we do now, bring players in, develop them then flog for a profit.

EMC is waiting in the wings. He will produce at least the same tally as Wright has done out wide. The previous season playing out wide was Wright 7 goals 2 assists iirc. EMC 6 goals 5 assists. Wright going brings in a decent transfer fee, we won't have to panic buy as we all ready have EMC, also allows EMC to flourish as first choice and means we can start bulking up the squad with talented young players.

Didn't we sign Wright from Europe?
No he was working in B&Q Leamington.

I think the difference with Wright is we were clearly tracking him for a while, knowing Gyokeres was off.

I reckon the scouting team will have had other priorities in this window, rather than looking for a Wright replacement, and subsequently going and looking around the european market for a couple of months to replace him carries much bigger risk.

Yeah lets let Wright go, and sign someone from Europe as theres bound to be someone out there.

Thats a totally safe and secure transfer policy and not likely to backfire whatsoever.

The scouting department will have a list of potential replacements for every single one of the squad.

Some go on like Doug bursts into the scouting office, declares he's sold Wright, now they go to work looking at youtube videos of who to buy.

I think we'd sell for £15 million honestly, but i don't think we'd get it. I think we'd easily get £10 million but i don't think we sell for that... so yeh, he stays i think.
Better off trying to cash in on BTA and Simms and work with that money to freshen up our striking options.

The other problem is if wright has a shocking season and or injured. Whats is he worth in 12 months time? Then what

EMC, will he? Don’t see it myself.

Goodrham, KHH, Brau, Darling and Salech i would be happy with a couple of these names. Not sure if any are targets although i know 3 had been mentioned before but could be media or agents pushing a player.

15m is a fairer price

I would imagine Wright wants to play in the world cup so a good pre season, fully fit and focused we could see the best Wright yet, which will increase his value come Jan or next summer if all goes well. Its just a numbers game now, if the right offer comes in then its hard to ignore. If the player himself wants out its still a numbers game, just has to be the right number to trigger movement.

Either way i think Doug amd FL know exactly who and what changes will happen before we kick a ball in anger. Doug is building a very solid high profile competitive club and with FL together they will get on and off the field things right to give squad the best chance of promotion. Just got to give them time and as fans trust and back the process.

According to Transfermarkt, Haji is worth £8m and Josh Sargent £16m . Go figure?? Our model is to sell for profit not break even

I'd much rather replace BTA and Simms than Wright.

He is a good player, rough end to the year.
Wholeheartedly agree with that, would MUCH rather keep Haji than Simms especially.
Just saying £15m income is very good business for me. Not that I think anyone will offer it!
