Would much rather us go for Mikey Johnston from WBA to be honest!

Interesting that Swift has been released. I wonder if he was a recruitment team target, or a Robins target previously.

Johnston is still under contract and they paid £3m for him last summer? Do people have no idea of context?

Swift isn’t a progression anymore. Although saying that for a free an he may live locally. I’ve seen worse frees. Wages dependant

I am quite aware of that, my comment was in a response to the idea of going for Diangana, and that Johnston would be the pick from WBA. Not that I for a minute think we would try and buy him.

Ok, but that's the point. I wouldn't pay a fee for either of them, but Diangana on a free to add depth sounds interesting to me.

Johnston only got one more goal involvement than him despite playing significantly more mins this season also.

We won 18 points from our first 18 games. If we had averaged 2 points a game from those games we would have finished on 87 points which would have been 13 points off automatics. That suggests we need a couple of quality signings rather than the major surgery that some want. We are desperate for a mobile attacking midfielder who drives at defences to create space for the likes of Rudoni or an attacker to get shots off earlier and maybe a defender in the Doyle mould. Besides that we have youngsters that need to have a path to the first team as we are not made of money. Luke Bell can cover for Wilson until Dovin is fit again for instance, I think the loan market will be utilised if the quality isn't available in permanent deals.

Agreed, I don't think he would add much to the squad. It is Lewis O'Brien I want us to go for, especially if Sheaf goes. I expect O'Brien will be snapped up by another club soon though, a few have been linked already.

O'Brien's wages would pose a problem. I'd imagine he'll be bought by one of the teams coming down.

He us on 35,000 a week with a year left, no chance he moves on perm and even on loan its a hefty fee.Good player and would help us but i think he is out of reach.

Forest will likely want him moved on permanently if they can help it.

Swansea were paying the majority of his contract, so shouldn't be too much trouble for a team coming down from the PL

That 87 points is roughly the same a Lampard would have got had he been here at the start.

Assuming Sheffield utd don't go in for him if they go up as he's on loan there, I wouldn't mind seeing Alfie Gilchrist here on loan. Can play CB and RB. Looks as good as Doyle

Got a good engine
Hope we aren’t a brake on his ambition
Could really help us out in a clutch
Should steer us up the table
Could be with us until he’s re-tyred

Right now we don’t have to do it.

We definitely need a good quality goalkeeper in on loan for the season, probably a third choice from one of the top Premier League clubs.

To buy a keeper of the quality we need would cost money we can better utilise elsewhere, bearing in mind the new man is likely to be the understudy to Dovin when he returns.

When Dovin is fit I'm reasonably happy, at least while we are in the Championship, with him and Wilson as cover.

I had hoped that Daniel Iversen would have been a target as a good goalkeeper whilst Dovin recovers; good experience in the league, must live fairly local. Alas, seems as though he is off to Preston

GK - Dovin / New GK / Wilson
RB - van Ewijk / New RB
RCB - Thomas / New CB / Lati
LCB - Kitching / Binks
LB - New LB / Dasilva
CDM - Grimes / New DM / Eccles / Torp
RW - Sakamoto / New RW
CAM - Rudoni / New AM
LW - Mason-Clark / New LW
ST - New ST / Asante / Bassette

9 signings but most would be replacing squad players minus ST, DM, LB

GK - Free
RB - Young future Milan replacement
RCB - Free (Darling or Dunne please)
LB - Miguel Angel Brau
CDM - Sheaf replacement (he will want to go to PL if not then probably dont need a DM)
RW - Free (Dolan or Diangana)
CAM - Someone like Aasgaard who can play as an 8 too
LW - backup to Ephron to replace him in the future
ST - Marquee signing most of budget here if Wright goes if not then dont need a ST
