It is - but football isn’t a normal business is it. If you can make money on it it’s best to get out asap.A five year plan is pretty standard in business and politics.
That’s the worry. Unless we get promoted this season there is no way that Wright, Rudoni and van Ewijk are here at the end of next summer and then it’s another big rebuild.Yes. This is a big season for the club or we're into another rebuild I think with Rudi MVE and Haji probably all moving on
Hes limited his investment in assets that have a greater chance to depreciate quickly in players.
Yes and made worse by the change from U23 to U21 competition. It generally leaves the older academy lads in limboMore than likely we’ll play with two 8s again this year at some point so think you’ll be correct.
It is a shame but the step up from academy to championship is huge.
I wasn't thinking of that because that's new.Based on the 15m for 10% of shares? We don’t know where that money come from
Burnley went for what 80m? We’re not worth anything near 250m.I wasn't thinking of that because that's new.
If you imagine that promotion and parachute money brings in well over £100m on its own, while we have players under collectively worth a good bit on the open transfer market, a club considered to be oin the up with a pretty big and loyal fan base in a 1 club city.
It wouldn't surprise me if the club isn't "worth" £250-300m with the stadium, even as a top 6 championship club. That's how he's able to get the investment to buy the stadium.
Sheffield United only sold for £100m last christmas.I wasn't thinking of that because that's new.

Its honestly mental.Burnley went for what 80m? We’re not worth anything near 250m.
isn’t Doug also a hedge fund manager? They’re not known for long term are they

At the moment Doug is at his reputational highest point with an investment that can go for whatever he wants.
That relationship can turn sour in a day…. See yesterday
You're expected to use the loan system these days but fans don't like seeing young talent going to L2 or L1 or even Scotland! Just look at the reaction to Rapha but the lad needs to play every week at this stage.Yes and made worse by the change from U23 to U21 competition. It generally leaves the older academy lads in limbo

Turf Moor ain't going to cut the mustard with anyone let's face it. At least they own their ground though!Sheffield United only sold for £100m last christmas.
Its more the events since then. Doug isn't a long term football investment person. In football - the best thing you can is get in, either get promoted quickly or do what hes done with us. Clear the debt, clean up the operation, get all the assets in order.I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm saying that I don't know and there is no evidence to support one position or another. I don't think that setting a 5 year plan is evidence that he intends to sell quick once he'd turned the club around.
It would be sensible in games like Saturday where we're leading to be fairI suppose we’re going to see plenty of weeks between now and January where Brau or KKH are closing games out on the wings. Which is uhhhh something to uhhhhh look forward to?
It is slightly risk averse to bring on Brau at LW at 2-1 up with 40 minutes to go.It would be sensible in games like Saturday where we're leading to be fair
I really think this will be the last season with King.
He's finally united the Stadium and the club which will strengthen his investment and resale value.
Hes limited his investment in assets that have a greater chance to depreciate quickly in players.
I think his CBO will be sourcing a buyer throughout this year.
Money is always an issueWe were bidding £10m on Charlie Hughes. Money wasn't an issue.
You can do a poo emoji but it’s trueMoney is always an issue
can he? he hasn't been doing that much has heWe still did not get any wingers in and still allowed Raphael to go on loan? Irrelevant that someone says he is not ready! He can still do a 20 minute cameo off the bench to help out
Just a hunch but I think we were after the winger from palace and it fell through lateWe still did not get any wingers in and still allowed Raphael to go on loan? Irrelevant that someone says he is not ready! He can still do a 20 minute cameo off the bench to help out
Based on you making up a figureI think the club was valued at around £150m even before the stadium deal.
We were after someone as Turner said but it didn't happen.Just a hunch but I think we were after the winger from palace and it fell through late
Fl doesn’t agreeWe still did not get any wingers in and still allowed Raphael to go on loan? Irrelevant that someone says he is not ready! He can still do a 20 minute cameo off the bench to help out
I like our loans out this summer, seem better thought out to me. Will keep an eye on all the ones loaned domestically and take an interest in Bassette if only to see if they are likely to take up that option or not.
I appreciate that but im more a round peg in a round hole thinking! BTA does a job but when he's out on the wing his natural instinct is to come inside and run into congested space and lose the ball! A lot! A winger no matter what skill level does hold the line and stretch the fieldFl doesn’t agree
He does well when theres space to run into, but imagine him trying to beat a full back against a low block.I appreciate that but im more a round peg in a round hole thinking! Depends on the fund type. Many are 3-5 years but there are some 10 years plus.Burnley went for what 80m? We’re not worth anything near 250m.
isn’t Doug also a hedge fund manager? They’re not known for long term are they
No transfer window includes loans now so apart from emergency keepers we can’t bring anyone in apart from free age
NoDo we get any money for Dom Hyams move to Wrexham?
Why would he need to? When he has played on the RW recently he is centrally positioned when we have the ball and we use the full as the wide right forward player in the 3-1-6 shape we play. BTA is in an inside right role on the ball.He does well when theres space to run into, but imagine him trying to beat a full back against a low block.
There were many times where he was out on the wide right regardless of how we were intending to play. Why would he need to?
