I don't want to go on about it like some that have been negative on everything all summer and there's little point in repeating how disappointed you are every 2 minutes in slightly different ways but I do want to pick up on one point here..Regardless of how we or who paid it, I definitely think it was a curveball.
Even before the stadium, it was pretty clear we needed to sell somebody before buying.
We've balanced the books nicely now. I know people won't like that because there's a clear desperation to get promoted.
No transfer window includes loans now so apart from emergency keepers we can’t bring anyone in apart from free agentsCan we still not get loans in? Not sure on rules this year

I don't think it's clear we needed to sell somebody at all. Even before Sheaf went we knew we'd bid on Hughes and Godo. If we're conservative and go lower end let's say £12 mil for the pair. Then we sold Sheaf. You're talking over £15 mil of transfer funds that were available to the manager going unspent I would think. Something fell down on the recruitment side, no question at all.
I agree, but I think not having loans in our back pocket should the permanents not have happened was bizarre. Defence is now OK personnel wise, but we’ve left ourselves hoping for no injuries in basically all the other positions because we haven’t loaned anyone in further up the pitch.I don't want to go on about it like some that have been negative on everything all summer and there's little point in repeating how disappointed you are every 2 minutes in slightly different ways but I do want to pick up on one point here..

When injuries, suspensions and being knackered hit, our bench looks like this...
Wilson
Bidwell
Allen
Lati
Andrews
Perry
Batanwi
Struggling with this last one (maybe Betjemann - seems like the most senior of the U21 players left)

It definitely means there should be no excuses come January to refresh the squad if neededWe would have found money for him if they bid was accepted but it would have added pressure to sell an asset in January.
We had long spent the Vik/Hamer money. Look at the business we did last summer and in Jan.
I agree with the final point, I don't think it went perfectly. They will be frustrated not to get one or two more bodies in. However, I think they'll be happy with the outgoings. I doubt anyone expected us to get as much as £6.5m+ for Sheaf. Similarly, the money for Binks.
Perhaps, but wide attacking players would have had a lot of minutes for us. Centre midfield a harder argument granted. While there probably have been shortcomings in our planning, I also think this window was tougher than most.
The fees sides were paying for what really was massively average talent was strange, as were the rumoured price tags of targets we were heavily interested in.
That would've likely caught King off guard. He has to see the value when bringing in players - he's said that from day one - and you only have to look as far as the Godo or Hughes deals to realise this window was a bit absurd.
Once again, I'm not really sure why we didn't dip into the loan market.
I sat in on a box holders and directors box evening before the season started where he spoke of the Rushworth and he made no secret of the fact loans were challenging due to fees often involved as well as the commitment we have to show in terms of promising game time etc. So perhaps that had a hand in it.
Really?
Everyone wants our season in the sun but most people have had the best 5 years supporting the club. It's great going up to the CBS with a full house and good match day experience. For me, I want to be competitive and have exciting seasons. The PL may happen, it may not.
I don't want us to go silly and gamble on automatic promotion. I certainly wouldn't change owning the stadium for promotion this season.
Got his fiingers burnt with Rushworth already this summerOnce again, I'm not really sure why we didn't dip into the loan market.

I agree, it's really poor.
The response justifying why Lampard didn't make subs earlier on Saturday was that Sakamoto wasn't fit and there isn't anyone on the bench that can change a game or added any better /different attacking quality.Minutes probably wouldn't satisfy the parent club or justify the loan fee.
Whilst I admire your optimism I wouldn't say Thomas and Kitching are top quality with the amount of fuck ups costing goals, our achilles heel last season and the start of this season is that our defence isn't very good, I think the Wolfs in for a few lessons to give out on the fly!!We have 3 absolute top quality centre backs. Top 6 material. Lats as back up isnt bad at all.
Who owns the stadium makes no difference to my experience supporting CCFC. Premier League money, disregarding anything else, sets the club up for years. The only advantage I’ve heard of owning the stadium is it increases revenue so we have a bigger credit line, which we’d only need to get promoted.
Championship football isn’t sustainable sadly. Even with 29k crowds we will lose millions each year. I’d love to stay here and have fun with proper fans but after 10 years or so without promotion you’re looking at a situation not far off the one that brought Sisu here in the first place. Or you’re hoping someone with silly cash comes in and gives you another 10 years.
The way the game is set up we have to go for promotion.
Absolutely agree, I actually posted before a sub was made saying who would you bring on...not a lot of choice to be fairThe response justifying why Lampard didn't make subs earlier on Saturday was that Sakamoto wasn't fit and there isn't anyone on the bench that can change a game or added any better /different attacking quality.
Nothing has changed.
My favourite part was the combined wisdom saying godo not good enough for us before he left for £7m lol

Allen is past it and Lati in at CM is emergency territory. Grimes’ fitness record is excellent though and Eccles is fine to deputise. My concern is out wide.Glass half full the squad could be flexible covering a number of positions and be:
GK: Rushworth/Wilson
LB: JDS, Bidwell, Brau
RB: MVE, KKH
CB: Wolf, Kitching, Thomas, Lati, Bidwell (emergency)
Midfield: Grimes, Allen, Rudi, Eccles, Torp, Lati (emergency)
LW: EMC, Brau, BTA, Wright
RW: Saka, BTA, KKH, Rudi (emergency)
ST: Wright, Simms, BTA
Looking at that squad flexibility it's actually not that bad.

Can you give an example of a club who got the comms right? Our comms seemed pretty typical to me, not sure what the uproar is about.Comms from admin were indeed very poor.
They show a lack of understanding of how fans actually behave on that final day of the window.
I doubt the club even recognise it. The fan representative forum that meets with King should mention it as part of the feedback on fan experience. It’s an easy quick win.
the right midfielder in that scenario is a wingback in a back 5 not as a rw in a 433Caveat this has come from Transfermarkt so isn't always the most reliable source;
