So from current information my understanding of the squad for next season will be

GK - Dovin | New Keeper | Wilson
RB - van Ewijk | New RB
CB - Thomas | Latibeaudiere | New CB | Kitching | Binks
LB - New LB | Dasilva
CM - Grimes | Rudoni | Sheaf | Torp | Eccles | New CM | Andrews
RW - Sakamoto | New RW
ST - Wright | New ST | Bassette | Obikwu
LW - Mason-Clark | New LW

8 signings potentially, unless we sign someone who can play both wings or a striker that can play on the wing then its probably 7, and on top of that if we’re satisfied with Wilson until Dovin is back maybe even 6 signings which sounds about right without further sales if Sheaf goes another CM, if Milan goes another RB, if Wright goes another ST
Don’t include Simms or Asante but include both Lati and Binks?

You have missed off numerous contracted players!!!

Ignoring academy products (other than Eccles), we’ve got 20 contracted outfield players.

1 x RB
2 x LB
4 x CB
6 x CM
2 x RW (Rapha)
3 x ST
2 x LW (Wright)

that puts us over at ST and under at RB to start if we’re assuming two per position. After that I reckon it’s one in one out.

Just read we are one of 5 teams after young Posh RB James Dornelly, 20 years old.

West Brom, Oxford, Blackburn and Fulham are the other teams, apparently Fulham had a bid turned down in January for him, so he must be highly rated, never heard of the lad but Posh always produce/find talent and then sell them on.

Wonder if we're in for Kwame Poku aswell? Read there are 26 teams after him.

Wouldnt fancy that Dornelly think we can do better to be honest granted he’s only 20 but I’d rather someone slightly better to cover MvE, certainly someone with better crossing and defending

Never heard of this young lad so don't really have an opinion on him mate but I agree think we need better cover for Milan, he was Posh first choice RB the last few months of the season, he might turn out to be quality but not what we need right now.

If we were a Premier League team, I'd say yeah sign him then loan him out to devolpe him, the club will find the right player I'm confident.

It's from Football League World, not even worth thinking about for 2 seconds.

You want better cover than someone who is wanted by Fulham?
I think you need to get back in the real world

He’s not wanted by fulham to cover, play, he’s being signed as a youngster, thats what PL clubs do hoover young talent we need to focus on getting someone who is ready to play championship now and step in for van Ewijk, also looking at Dornelly’s stats they arent great at all

To be fair if Milan stays, he’ll start most if not all games. Imagine this lad would be here to be mentored by him and play occasionally for 10-15 mins here for his development. As a back up could do worse

Agreed we could do worse but I think we could do better there’s been a couple times this season where Milan has looked absolutely devoid of energy and needed a break and what if we dont get lucky where he stays injury free, I think we can do better

I guess the problem sometimes with looking better is the demands of starting especially when Milan is so entrenched as the starting rightback.

I would add though a year training at a high standard, and getting minutes in this league could skyrocket his development for the following season for if Milan left

Tbf having any sub right back is an improvement

I understand that and would get behind him if he joined us but I just think we could do better

After all of the shit I’ve given to Dasilva on here over the years, I’ve actually got to a point where I’d like to keep him as a back up.

Yes he is a worry defensively (although has massively improved) but he is a really good attacking option from the bench and gives us something different in those tight games.

Makes you think he would be better as a left winger but we have superior options there.

Saddle said we’re looking to offload both Simms and Asante, but said nothing about lati and Binks iirc

Sadly, I think Simms has to go.

He did well after a slow start last season and I had hoped that he would kick on from there. For whatever reason he seems to have gone backwards.

I’m not opposed to keeping BTA, as he is a different option to our other forwards, but happy to see him depart if we can get someone better.

- Ethan Laird (Brum)
- Hampus Skoglund (Hammarby)
- Brodie Spencer (Huddersfield)
- Mimeirhel Benita (on loan at Heracles)

I could find many more than a bottom half L1 Peterborough squad player
So a squad player at Luton, 2 unproven overseas players and a Huddersfield player.

much better options you’re right

A player who was a championship squad player same age as this bloke who was a squad player in League 1, 2 oversees players who’ve got some good stats and would come relatively cheap, and a Huddersfield player who is young very versatile and been a mainstay for them
