Lots of speculation on who we think and familiar names due to us seeing them play in the Championship, but who knows if Frank wants these and would ever consider them? My guess is most of the players we sign will not be players we have heard of.

Thing that concerns me with Toffolo is that he’s neither quick enough to consistently provide an overlap nor good enough on the ball to invert. Don’t think he’s a terrible player but he’s quite similar to Bidwell in that sense, albeit better and a couple of years younger.

Whenever I've seen him play in the past couple years, he's been quick to pass sideways and backwards without really advancing. Not what we need I think.

Looks a really intelligent player to me

Apparently good experience and personality off the pitch which is something we prioritise

No brainer if he wants to come and fits the budget

Is he quick?
Because with the high line we play I think we could do with more pace in the back 4

If Toffolo and Brau are both legit links it seems like Lamps is done with both Bidwell and Dasilva. I don't hate it.

Yeah, Dasilva on end of season form would been worth keeping - but he’s looked incredibly vulnerable ant times - and Bidwell, is only going to get slower.

It would seem like upgrades, which is gotta be what we want.

I’d be surprised as I think it will be one and Dasilva as back up but wouldnt hate it either

Despite Dasilva’s end of season form he was still caught out by an over the top ball against Hull & Luton causing us to drop points

I'd be surprised too but so far only the Brau, Toffolo and Kesler-Hayden links seem like credible transfer links and 2 of them are LBs.

After all of the shit I’ve given to Dasilva on here over the years, I’ve actually got to a point where I’d like to keep him as a back up.

Yes he is a worry defensively (although has massively improved) but he is a really good attacking option from the bench and gives us something different in those tight games.

Not sure what that’s got to do with Swansea fans accurately saying Grimes passed back and sideways too much.

I mean it could be we have more than one option and it’ll depend what the player asks are and what the competition for them looks like.

Tbf the first two last summer were Browne/Stamenic and we then didn’t sign a CM so not getting my hopes up

People turning their nose up at Toffolo astound me. Do some ever watch football?

He would be one of the best LB in this league

My thoughts on the window ahead in the link below:

Transfer Permutations

A position by position approach on what's likely to happen this summer. MVE and Sheaf the key.

I can guarantee you have not watched him play much in the last 2 years… no one has.

Long term injuries ca make a huge difference to a player …. Exhibit number 1 … Fankaty Dabo

I’m not saying he would be poor as I’ve not seen enough of him to know how well he is now playing but it’s too early to assert he would be one of the best left backs in the championship.

I do like the fact that he has been promoted before and will bring experience to the team.

I mentioned him a few months back and people did the same.

Same type of people that think we can persuade KKH to come in and compete with Milan for one right back spot

We're a more attractive proposition than them nowadays

Would wages not be a problem? You would've thought he'd be on £30k+ pw.

So this Simms to Pompey rumour that seems to be being talkd about....

It would appear that it started from this...

https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/...shock-norwich-city-swoop-striker-deal-5137740

Not happening. I'd take a guess that they won't be signing Borja Sainz either!

Not much to base it on but think Norwich could offer/traditionally offer more in wages

Parachute payments finally ran out. Need to start living in the reality of the rest of us now unless they want to end up in big trouble.

He probably is on a fair amount but he’s out of contract and won’t be getting that anywhere…no matter who he signs for.

So from current information my understanding of the squad for next season will be

GK - Dovin | New Keeper | Wilson
RB - van Ewijk | New RB
CB - Thomas | Latibeaudiere | New CB | Kitching | Binks
LB - New LB | Dasilva
CM - Grimes | Rudoni | Sheaf | Torp | Eccles | New CM | Andrews
RW - Sakamoto | New RW
ST - Wright | New ST | Bassette | Obikwu
LW - Mason-Clark | New LW

8 signings potentially, unless we sign someone who can play both wings or a striker that can play on the wing then its probably 7, and on top of that if we’re satisfied with Wilson until Dovin is back maybe even 6 signings which sounds about right without further sales if Sheaf goes another CM, if Milan goes another RB, if Wright goes another ST
