His stats show he’s decent on the ball but average defensively. I get that both come at a premium but I don’t see him doing a great deal to change our defensive problems.I'm not sure about Woolfenden at all. I think it's always a risk bringing in a player who has only ever played at one club for such a large proportion of his career, especially when that club seemingly had a massive level of overperformance more than the sum of it's parts in that time. Just hope we're not falling into a bit of a trap of 'well he's got promoted out of this league before, he must be a top centre back at this level'.
Ultimately though time will tell and I'll certainly give him more than 4 games () before making any sort of judgement.
Really ? if we’d of signed him the season they went up it would of been a brilliant signing, we’re getting the same player only with more experienc, brilliant signingI'm not sure about Woolfenden at all. They conceded alot of goals the year they went up for an automatic promoted team.but he played nearly every game the season they got promoted , he’s a quality championship centre half with prem experience, if your unhappy about a signing like that then ?
look what our fans said about o hare, quality signing, exactly what we need cover at centre halfI’ll judge him when he plays for us, but I don’t like their fans saying he’s not very good at defending set pieces when we are already hopeless at it
ExactlyI think those seemingly disappointed in Woolfenden because they want Hughes need a reality check
Hughes is a great player, but he isnt worth the 15 million quid Hull wanted to let him go. Woolfenden is a third of that price, was a mainstay of a side that got promoted from this league, and is an upgrade on both Thomas and Kitching
What more do people want?
But hes defibately a ball playing centre back and is probably better than Lats. So he would be a good addition. Suits our system and maybe would improve our build up play. They conceded alot of goals the year they went up for an automatic promoted team.
I like Charlie Hughes and would of loved him but I'm happy with Woolfenden, a really good CH with promotion and Premier league experience, Charlie Hughes isn't the second coming of Maldini and if Hull want 15 million then its probably best to walk, that is a lot of money, buy Woolfenden and get a couple more in with that money, then look to buy him at a later date potentiallyI think those seemingly disappointed in Woolfenden because they want Hughes need a reality check

Shame Sisu ain't in charge at Hull... Would of got him for 50p and a snickersAgreed
If Hull weren't under the embargo, we would have got Hughes for 10 million is the word
The irony!I think those seemingly disappointed in Woolfenden because they want Hughes need a reality check

The club will clearly not go bust hahahahaIt’s obvious we’re trying to do business so . Hope we don’t overpay silly amounts for anyone
Spot on. No doubt Hughes is a very good player but the ‘pay what hull want’ brigade just aren’t living in the real world. Do they want the club to go bust ?! Pleased to get some CB competition/cover in if Woolfenden deal is done
ps you’ve befriended the new kit washer haven’t you ?!!! Like it
The club will clearly not go bust hahahaha
haven't we learnt that fans at possible former clubs aren't the best judges.
Not sure about Woolfy the more I read about him
Is he a quality Championship centre half? He's played one season in the league in a team that conceded a lot of goals!but he played nearly every game the season they got promoted , he’s a quality championship centre half with prem experience, if your unhappy about a signing like that then ?
yes, he's a very good cbIs he a quality Championship centre half? He's played one season in the league!
We have no idea if he's going to fix our very clear defensive issues.
Well if Bling feels a £10m bid on one player is worth it, then £15m isnt going to put the clubs future at risk.I was being flippant. Of course we wouldn’t go bust (we’ve got players of value to sell) but if the fans who want us to just pay whatever the selling club wants for players ran the club, we soon would. We’re losing millions a year and just bought the ground. There’s not an endless supply of money.
For the Carrot Munchers? As the Norwich fans call them.£10 million is a good offer for Hughes and a good sign of where we are at as a club. I wonder if Doug might stick an extra couple of mil on and dangle a deadline day carrot.
How many times have you watched him?yes, he's a very good cb
Do you doubt his knowledge? How many times have you watched him?
Hughes rumour? We've bid 3 times for himToo many jumped on the Hughes rumour far too early. Following every word of the gossip columns just creates disappointment and resentment in my book.
Can strike this one off. Not looking great.
Yeah on eBay wasn't he...Hughes rumour? We've bid 3 times for him
