There is a place for proven quality with the right leadership skills coming towards the end of their careers …. Brighton have constantly done this … Milner, Wellbeck; lallana etc ….
Yeh you don't want to end up with a squad riddled with overpaid old mercenaries, but there's definitely something to be said for getting one carefully selected one in. I agree but as an experienced player in this division and backup to Saka on a cheap wage it would be a good idea if we cant get other targets like maybe Dolan or something (not saying we’re in for Dolan just a thought)I think we need to be looking for better players. Towards the end of the window I would agree. Maybe I am being foolishly optimistic but I am hoping we will sign players who are noticeably better than what we have I.e.
