Saying we need a winger seems to bring out the remaining dwindling small % that actually think our strikers are good enough, despite actually watching them with their own eyes. We need both of those and a top quality CB to really compete.
Kind of pointless going in circles at this point, i choose to believe that the management aren't blind and are working on all 3 as well as some outwards transfers. Whether we get all that done remains to be seen though, you'd really hope to see at least 1 new face this week really.
I haven’t checked but I’d imagine a Venn diagram of the people saying we don’t need a winger, and those saying we didn’t need a keeper before we signed Rushworth is a circle

Because it’s a reasonable scenario given EMC was out for a decent period last year.

you said we dont need a LW or RW.

you say we have plenty who can play RWas as a second position. Name them.
EMC, BTA, KKH, Raphael (his main position)

No, it’s a number game. If you only have 2 wingers and also play a formation with 2 wingers, one injury forced you into playing players out of position or a formation change. Which is what happened last season.

The people who think we need a striker either think Haji Wright is a LW (Lampard clarified he doesn’t view it this way) or not good enough to play upfront altogether.

If Haji is your main striker, you do not need to sign another.

We still have people asking for a back up keeper when we have 7 keepers. I dont think you should read too much into a lot on here

A lot of this faux panic is now taking the shape of ‘what happens if all of our players get injured’ or ‘what happens if all of our players are shite’.

Surely that’s just recruitment, and on a wider scale - football?

Unfortunately you can’t have a squad of 33 first teamers.

3 weeks left. 1 game in. We are ok.

nobody is saying having a squad of 33 first teamers ffs. That is a counter argument the king pilled anti signings brigade are banding around

sorry for not wanting my backup winger to be a player out of position, a player who’s never started a professional game in England or a RB

So you want a back up winger ( both sides) a new CB and a Striker? Correct?

You’ll have people like bali or Chris coming along telling you we shouldn’t be spending £1 on any of these positions and we’re good with what we have
I look forward to you showing where i said that. If it was left to you we would still be making another 25 signings and then you would proceed to tell us how shit they all are after 1 game.

No I’ve said many times. If we lose nobody a CB and a backup winger is fine.

Ideally you lose a keeper, a LB, Allen and a striker and sign

a winger
A atriker
A cm
A cb

add MVE leaving you need a RB also.

I don’t see Haji as a striker, never have

Saying we need a winger is because we have no depth there whereas we have 5 CF’s…

25 signings, you are absolutely clueless. I wanted a maximum of 4/5 this window

I don't see him as a striker either but unfortunately frank does. Defo need some outgoings though.

I’m sure some on here wish Joy and Tim were back.
Some need a plastic bedsheet!!

To be honest this is a ludicrous argument, just because people criticise what's going on currently (and I dont agree with a lot of the criticism), it doesn't mean they want sisu back
Lots of people criticised Luis Binks, it didn't mean they wanted Jordan Turnbull back!

We are desperate for RW and LW ideally, hopefully can play 10 role also. We have no competent back up and would mean formation change if injuries hit.

CB - crucial as short. Ideally Hughes or Doyle. But an upgrade on what we have.

RB* depending if MVe goes.

so that’s 3/4 players, couple can be loans, but crucial for me.

then you can look a the nice to do stuff like Strikers, they only change if we ship off BTA/Simms or Bassette - otherwise it’s what we have.

The 10 is a really good point which hasn't been mentioned much. We certainly don't have a rudoni replacement

Would people prefer to sell MVE and Rudoni and throw £20m at a random collection of players like the 2023/24?

Or keep the bulk of the squad that's got to the play offs and an FA Cup semi-final with a small number of additions?
I think if we sold Rudoni for £15-20m and reinvested in a new RB/CB/winger/10/ we’d overall be stronger than if we just kept him

I think the general consensus is that we're fine. I can't see how we're deviating from the 5 year plan, and DK, tbf to him, is doing exactly what he said he would do

*Reach play offs 3 of 5 years*, excluding the season he came in, we're 1 of 2 with the same squad that reached last years play offs, so we should be thereabouts

*Keep hold of top players* unless the money is right. We're not selling our assets on the cheap anymore. Either right price to suit us or go elsewhere

*Target top players* and money is available to do so. The market is easy shopping around in the basement bins, this market takes patience and time

*Improvements to the clubs infrastructure* CV wise good appointments behind the scenes and improvements to match day and ryton

I think some of the fan base needs to temper expectations, personally, from where we've been, I'm just enjoying the ride

Torp is the cover there. Shat ourselves when Rudoni got injured last year then Torp went and scored a brace.

Also, who the hell are we to convince to join us to be on standby if Rudoni gets injured?

I know i'm calling for some signings but i didn't think we'd hit the 'bring back Kasey Palmer' stage of the window just yet.

Oh yeah 100% agree but Rudoni is our most important player and doesn't seem to have been mentioned during the "need back up" panic. I wouldn't say Torp is the same kind of player

palmer was shocking on Saturday
Did you notice Mcburnie have a whisper in Palmers ear after Thomas took him out? Clearly because Mcburnie was on a yellow he asked Palmer to go through Thomas, which he duly did. Cock.
