Everyone said our bench looked strong before the Hull game but i didn't think so really. We had 2 left backs and even more hilariously Brau went on the left wing and Bidwell was more there to backup the LCB because we don't have another one.I think hoping for a better back up LCB than Bidwell is not wanting the world or a like for like stand in...
You would struggle to find a player as professional and as solid as Allen willing to sit on the bench at this level
I think we forget as well that Lampard likes players who can play multiple positions so hopefully that will help with thatYounprobably need toe sets of starting wingers and strikers because they run out of steam first and you want to try something different if they’re having no luck. You also want a couple of options at CM depending on opposition and game state. Add in a competent full back and centre back backup and you’re probably at about 17/18 you need first team quality if you want to make a go of it. We’re at maybe 12/13.
100% believe a LCB will be coming in.Everyone said our bench looked strong before the Hull game but i didn't think so really. We had 2 left backs and even more hilariously Brau went on the left wing and Bidwell was more there to backup the LCB because we don't have another one.
Will see how Raphael does tonight (fingers crossed)I mean agree with most but we currently only have one out and out Right winger in the first team (Sakamoto).
IMO that is a role we need to strengthen
That's fine but it's clear that we will be looking for one or we'd not have let go of Binks. We just have to patient for the right target. Who knows, We might be we have had a go for Doyle or Hughes but have to wait and see what they want to do. Point is we don't know as fans, it boring but you just have to take it.I think hoping for a better back up LCB than Bidwell is not wanting the world or a like for like stand in...
How else do you strengthen without buying new players and replacing the ones that aren't good enough for your squad anymore?
True on that note, thought he did well against PauliWill see how Raphael does tonight (fingers crossed)
Looked decent pre-season tbf. Either needs to trust him in game or loan him out.True on that note, thought he did well against Pauli
And this is the problem, people saying we dont need 8 signings, when in reality, 8 signings is a new 1st choice CH, a new ST and our depth. And how much potential to improve do you think Jamie Allen, Jake Bidwell and Brad collins have?
It's the heat mate, does funny things to people! LolFuck me have we all lost the plot today???
Very well putAgree with most of the sentiment on here. The biggest plus about this window is we’ve retained players who were good enough to get us to fifth last year. We’re tinkering now rather than overhauling. And while that makes for less entertaining transfer windows it’s absolutely the right place to be.
People suggesting we don’t need a new RW is utterly bewildering.Looked decent pre-season tbf. Either needs to trust him in game or loan him out.
It seems Kone is off to QPRlads, we've played 1 game
there's 3 weeks of the window left
Agreed - need a number 10/RW ahead of a CF firstPeople suggesting we don’t need a new RW is utterly bewildering.
The usual response is “we have Raphael” or “one of KKH or MVE can play on the wing”Agreed - need a number 10/RW ahead of a CF first
Despite the facts, the wills and wants of player and manager… Haji Wright’s best position is from the left! After hearing lampards interview on Wright I no longer will ask for him on LW. I understand how lampard sees him and hope he can get it out of him when he's fully fit
I mean, you say we dont need a LW, as have many people on here numerous times. In fact, I've been quoted for suggesting wingers by people saying were "overloaded" with wing options. No I agreed earlier we need a new CB, we do not however, need a CM, LW,RW or an 8th keeper as has been suggested
I agree. Given that Lampard seems reluctant to stick Wright on the left, we saw both BTA and Brau out there after his introduction, you could argue we're light on both wings. Someone who is capable of going either side might be the best option at this point.People suggesting we don’t need a new RW is utterly bewildering.
Why is why I don’t get the assertion we don’t need eitherSakamoto gets injured and we’re starting Raphael or KKH at RW.
EMC gets injured and we’re playing Brau or BTA on the left.
Both are quite grim prospects.
Exactly this. The obsession with buying a striker this window is just strange.Sakamoto gets injured and we’re starting Raphael or KKH at RW.
EMC gets injured and we’re playing Brau or BTA on the left.

Oh did he say speficially we needed a left winger I must've missed that, do you have a link? Or do you mean on FM?I mean, you say we dont need a LW, as have many people on here numerous times. In fact, I've been quoted for suggesting wingers by people saying were "overloaded" with wing options.
However, FL for the entire January window and has very clearly stated during this window he wants a LW.
Ill be completely honest here, I'll take what FL says we need over you, or anyone else on this forum. No offence intended, but if FL says he wants/we need a LW, and yous aye we don't, your opinion means shit in all honesty.

So if EMC and Sakamoto get injured you’re happy with Brau, BTA and Raphael being their replacements?Oh did he say speficially we needed a left winger I must've missed that, do you have a link? Or do you mean on FM?
Literally never said Rangers were after BTA. You misread the post. Are you going to expand on who JD is, or the fact you said Rangers were after BTA?
Rapha is never going to start in the Championship for us. Lampard will go 3-5-2 if we get injuries.Sakamoto gets injured and we’re starting Raphael or KKH at RW.

Why are you obsessed with InjuriesSo if EMC and Sakamoto get injured you’re happy with Brau, BTA and Raphael being their replacements?
Saying we need a winger seems to bring out the remaining dwindling small % that actually think our strikers are good enough, despite actually watching them with their own eyes. We need both of those and a top quality CB to really compete. Why is why I don’t get the assertion we don’t need either
Because it’s a reasonable scenario given EMC was out for a decent period last year.Wh
Why are you obsessed with Injurieswe have two first team players who can play left wing and plenty who can play right as a second position. I was merely asking where Lampard has specified LW as a need to strengthen
That would be scary but all the CBs have been reliable in the sense that they’re v rarely injured. I’m less concerned that we’d run out of CBs as opposed to wingers which is by its nature, a position that has a higher attrition rate.I don’t think either of those are as scary as the prospect of Thomas or Kitching getting injured and playing Bidwell at CB.
