feel like this could result in a huge portsmouth type collapse at some point in the future
If you are paying that sort of money, the player has to be absolutely exceptional with a massive sell on potential. Think Ipswich paid £17.5 million for a dud.
I know Esse is younger and has much more potential but £12 to £14 million mentioned compared to EMC £5 million looks a bargain.
Southampton appear to have blown it with loads of £7 million players.
Recruitment where ever we end up, as usual, will be crucial.

I think it might’ve gone beyond that now as I believe Deadpool (and the other matey) may have attracted a billionaire investor to join the party.
I think they’re here to stay for the foreseeable.
Genuinely good for the town (city?) of Wrexham.
Yet Another example of money being all that matters in football. Great.*

*heres hoping we get the same.

Edit: sorry have now seen others have said this already.
The more you struggle to achieve something the more it means if/when you do. I used to give myself loads of money on manager games as a kid, it got boring after a while because the end result is never really in doubt.

Right I’m itk, got a feeling we’ll get one. A cm, his name may or not be hamer, also we could sign a randomer from a foreign league however if we don’t end up signing a midfielder we definitely definitely tried.
Absolutely spot on.
My mum used to go to fortune tellers and believed the classic non-specific stuff she was told. Good blaggers just repeat what we already know (we were after Manneh, a midfielder) and Lampard we know would like more cover.
The suckers who take the bait on here are hilarious.
Unless someone says we are after X and he is definitely coming, the signs are you are being played.
Look at the source, look at the recent history.
Who told you Esse was signing on loan, er no one. Or Mini other than we were after him in the Summer which came from his agent or Spurs.

Onyeka would still be my choice but I think interest from elsewhere (bloos) has pushed the price up and if it was going to happen it would have by now.

I'm sure they're working on a big list of them.

Do we genuinely believe the possibility Hamer is coming back? I dont know what to do with this hard on….
Watch re-runs of hamer banging in top bins against Boro in that play off game and shoot ya bolt, I was going to say In that semi final play off but I think you've gone past the point of a semi

I'm not sure it would've happened by now. He's only been back in the country for a couple of days.

Imagine Doug buying the stadium, re-signing Hamer and us winning the league, all in the same season

get the statue built
1 million percent that would be the greatest achievement in our history I would say especially after all the shit we've had to put up with. You see these football documentaries and honestly if this happened Cov should do one it would be unbeatable.

He's badly out of shape for a start. Would be great for PR and 'merch' sales though so I get why King would be in for it.

Onyeka is probably closest to what we need and more suited to the league above if we get there.

You’ll be eating humble kebab just you wait and see.

Also Hamer has played about twice as much PL football in the last three years.

I will wait and see. If it happens I'll pop down to GDK in his honour.

Also the new buffet at Warwick Uni does all you can eat kebab meat. Don't tell Gus.

Couldn’t agree more. I absolutely believe the suffering makes our successes all the sweeter.
I guess it’s all about context though. Arsenal/liverpool/utd etc etc fans seem to consider ‘not winning stuff’ equally as painful. I question that. Relegation is really shit.
Of course none of it really matters. As I believe Pope John-Paul said, “of all the unimportant things in life, football is the most important”.
