If we've missed our main target and Hamer is an option, would be a no brainer if we could get it for the right deal, plenty of championship experience and could step up to the prem.

Dont know how true this is, but have heard there's been messages between him and John Dawkins, saying he wants to come back. Could be a load of sh*t so who knows

Honestly i dont even know if he’d be any good for us now (thats a lie i definitely think he would) but just IMAGINE THE SCENES
Prodigal sons return, signs a 4 year deal his media video is his face photoshopped onto Eminem's body in his song 'without me ' but the lyrics are changed to 'Gus is back',.

He comes here bags 7-8 goals and scores at bramall lane, mate id take him back in a heartbeat

We struggled to replace him as a player but we’ve struggled more replacing his song.

Top class that was. Blackpool away one evening, was quite literally sung from minute one all the way through the game. Class night.

Yeah, we were there for that Blackpool away game when the chant started and never stopped!

I am torn over Hamer because at his best - or just somewhere near it - he would be a real asset to us but there do seem to be genuine questions about his fitness and attitude.

At the moment my heart says yes and my head says no.

Should we push forward on our best opportunity to be back in the premier league in 25 years or should we think of the feelings of Jamie Allen?

Tough one.
Bit of a c**t move though getting rid of a back up player who gives his all and going through personal problems just to sign an extra player we don't need 🤷

One that's been here for 7 seasons as well

Every aspect about the return of Gus can be made believable and realistic. Lots fit in why he would come back and why we would want him. Even the money stilled owed between the clubs makes it sound visible.

But for me i struggle with it happening, i just dont see it although would be very happy if it did.
I totally agree I just can't see this having any legs unfortunately. I really hope that the pessimist in me is wrong. There's reasons that make sense. He's not getting a game, apparently money is still owed and I think deep down he absolutely loves Cov and imagine the media reaction. I've just read albeit a week or so old that Trabzonspor are in the race to sign him and they are well positioned for Europa league next season which along with wages we can't compete with.
