The deal is agreed, and after summer the player doesn't want to fuck around. It's not 100% signed and sealed but would take something substantial for it to change now.

Exactly, give the guy a break he's been sat on the bench watching then is suddenly dropped in the middle of a totally new backline.
He'll be fine but does need regular minutes to build form. I'd say we need to be braver if we are pumping teams. Hook a few starters and give the backup chance to get a feeling for the team.

It’s a worry that it’s in the public domain and we can’t sign him until 1st January.

No real concern with that considering the premier league interest (Brighton) have been rumoured to have.
