The club play in a town in Sweden with a population of 1254 I can’t see them demanding silly money. It is a fairytale story that they won the league but the squad will probably be decimated now and looks like we’ve got the pick of the bunch (if it happens).

Their season will be done in a week too.

I wonder if there can be something done where he joins up with us early so he can get used to the training and adjust to a new club quicker.

I know he’s not allowed to be officially transferred until the window opens.
If his club has the funds from us secured I don’t see why they wouldn’t give him permission to train or at least move here and acclimatise.

What did Torp do, I wonder? I remember him saying he hadn't played for a couple of months when he signed due to the mid season break. He'd never played at Christmas until he'd signed for us.

Could be a very fun signing. Pace, trickery and can play multiple positions. Apparently somewhat of a greedy player though.

I’m old enough to remember when we shouldn’t sign any foreigners because of Hilßner, Jobello, and Kastaneer.
Even going back to the shite Championship days, when we've actually committed a small amount of money to an overseas signing we did ok. Thinking the likes of Safri, Gunnarsson, Mifsud. When we have entered he dreaded free transfer overseas market however.. the ones you mention are just the tip of the iceberg.

We signed some corkers in the 90s. Alex Evtushok being a highlight.

Said agreed 4.5 million euros with Olympiacos, but the deal fell though due to the player contract.
We played hardball with Dovin over his wage demands.

We need someone we can chuck on for twenty mins when EMC or Saka is tiring or having a bad game. He doesn’t need to be the finished article just someone direct and tricky who can cause problems in a different way.
