Still think Haji leaves and we bring another striker in…

Why?

Haji is a premiership quality striker who we will need to keep us up next season.

I still think he’s playing with an injury and not fully fit. He’s trying to be available for a World Cup.

Absolute madness to sell a proven goalscorer-especially as that getting a ready made replacement striker is really bloody hard!

I’m not advocating him leaving this crucial window but he is not a Premier League striker.

He’s 0 goals in 13 games in the Championship and is barely having an impact on games. Yes he has purple patches but it is rare to see him dominating games in the Championship. I can’t see him dominating games in the PL with much fitter, faster, stronger and more intelligent defenders.

YMH and Romaine Esse have given me Josh Wilson-Esbrand and Brook Norton-Cuffy vibes…
Let's hope for better from both
Norton Cuffy was much better out the two, but flattered to deceive most of his loan here, although he played well at Wembley.
Wilson-Esbrand just wasn't up for it and Bidwell was probably in the form of his time here that season too

I think Haji has qualities and want to keep him for the promotion push.

But he is not a premiership quality striker. He's never played even close to the level and I personally don't think he makes the step up.

I just said I think it would happen, I didn’t offer a personal view on it…

But, given you asked: for me, he’s too lightweight for the Championship, let alone the Premier League - you only have to have watched Vik play for Arsenal this season to see what a huge step up it is - and Haji isn’t nearly as strong or quick as Gyokeres

If he is struggling for fitness (again) - then that is also a concern - particularly given he was also injured for last years’ playoffs. He’s our record signing - and he’s supposed to be the main man - but too often he flatters to deceive or just goes AWOL.

I’m genuinely not a Wright hater - and you’re right that great strikers are hard to find - but I also don’t think he’s irreplaceable either. Simms has shown him up in recent weeks on work ethic alone.

Hopefully he steps up - or gets fit again - in the coming weeks, and proves me wrong, but for me he needs to show more than he has for the last ~2 months.

We are in for O’Nien. Confirmed.

One of my mates works with his best mate.

I never post these, so before you all jump on it….

he’s open to it and we have made approach but that’s all I know.
The thing I liked about O'Nien was at the end of the 3-0 match at the CBS, he was going around geeing up the younger players consoling them, presumably saying it is only one game. Sometimes you need players like that.

Esse would 100% start for us, miles better than Sakamoto. YMK would be a rotation option. With the latter, he’s only played 15/25 games so that’s where Spurs’ frustration lies rather than the minutes.
Think Dovin and Rushworth. OK, goalies but took some games to get used to how we play and the other players. Think any new players have to adapt. Most take a little while to fit in perfectly.

Left back cover sorted. 🙌🏻

Start of the end this was.

Adam Armstrong, Murphy, Kent, Cole, Maddison and then Peter fucking Ramage walks through the door.

BNC was a massive upgrade on Dabo at the time, took him a few games to settle in but I thought he was good.
