The thing I liked about O'Nien was at the end of the 3-0 match at the CBS, he was going around geeing up the younger players consoling them, presumably saying it is only one game. Sometimes you need players like that.

BNC was a massive upgrade on Dabo at the time, took him a few games to settle in but I thought he was good.

No arguing there regarding Dabo. Just think he was ordinary until the last few weeks, which is the most recent memory of him in a cov shirt so can change perceptions.

He did always look like Bambi on ice going forward though

I will be sorry to see Bidwell go, as he has been a solid and reliable player for us and it was useful that he could play CB as well as LB. Sadly though he is no longer quick enough for the way we play.

Brau is better suited to us but there are still question marks as to whether he is good enough, certainly defensively.

I won't complain if we get in another good quality LB, although O'Nien's versatility could be handy.

If we’re going all out for a midfielder as saddle suggested I’d like a big physical beast midfielder as I think we’ve already got a lot of technicians. Can’t think of anyone in this country so probably have to come from abroad.

However a small part of me thinks there’s a certain midfielder at Sheff United who has just won championship player of the year, at a peak age and is likely available.

I think Pereira would be exactly the sort of player we need. He's a proper 8, tough tackling and gets forward well.

Seems to have rumbled on forever that one but if we think he can step up now is the window to do it.
