Don’t doubt any of them all very good players. The problem is that’s £40m!This is only fun and not serious, although I wish it was.
Leicester having trouble finding cash to make James' transfer permenant, a £10m offer could get him to us, Then Hughes from Hull, Boro are meant to be interested and again if we offered £15m maybe could get him. Lastly, Léo Scienza from Saints, FL loves him, we offer £15m. There you have it, 3 quality signing who would get us promoted.
I don't anyone is falling for that
Surely he hasn’t actually gone skiing@lordsummerisle did Doug end up going back out to Geneva?
More of a kinda snowboarding guySurely he hasn’t actually gone skiing
yes I've bagsied posting that later in the monthToo early for the acquired a Chinese takeaway tweet?
Us includedEvery Premier League Club will have Rushworth on their radar.
According to the poster, he returned from Geneva on Saturday and went back out today.Surely he hasn’t actually gone skiing

Mate if he’s going out skiing in this period then he’s taking the pissMore of a kinda snowboarding guy

Thats because we all hoped for some of his 'oven ready deals' given the noises from Frank all seasonThere’s absolutely nothing to fall for mate. Where I understand the urgency and fully believe ‘no signings = no promotion’, I’m still pretty shocked that there’s flapping going on on the 5th January.
He's the sort of character you could have a £10 note on a bit of fishing wire outside the training ground front door and he would chase it round the car parkWas due to go 1730, but hadn't turned up when I left.
Think he was delayed by a 10p piece frozen to the ground just outside.
Was calling in someone with an oxy-acetelene torch to get it free.
Whilst I agree, walks where? Because if he fails to take us up from the position we were in surely his managerial career is done? So many people already had him down as a shit manager, failure would be the cherry on top of the icing on top of the cake surely? If we don't go up this year I think Lampard walks to be honest.
Surely nobody on here really thinks/believes doug bought the ground out of his own pocket? Yes, he's bought the club and offset the debts, but do you really think he bought the ground out of his own kitty? Come on, get real! Whilst he gets a lot of plaudits for making it happen, saying he cant afford to buy a few players because he bought the ground is way off the mark!Don’t doubt any of them all very good players. The problem is that’s £40m!
I do wonder if Doug is struggling to fund anything to that level. Part of me understands - he’s bought the club, cleared the debt and bought the ground.
It’s stick or twist - does he / can he afford to gamble. Based on our history and his business sense he maybe only wanting small tweaks or loans now - which is a gamble in itself given the opportunity.
We’ve probably done better than he thought - are really hard conundrum.
Ooh, full melting, flip-topperism from Doug?
Not doubting it but how does @skybluegod know the agent of a Gambian playing in Sweden
Sorry, but it’s not bed wetting is it really?
As I mentioned earlier in the thread the club has had time to proactively prepare for the moment the window opened. Deals can still be agreed outside the transfer window and if they had targets then I’d be keen to understand why couldn’t secure them ready for Jan 1st.
Lampard knows, and has mentioned several times since the beginning of the season, that we have small squad and injuries take its toll, so then surely the club knows what the manager needs, prepare and get it ready for when the window opens and help out the team(?).
To me what it looks like is a mixture of one or two things, either a reluctance to spend money and wait on the availability of loan players from Premier League sides (likely) or players that they are trying to secure are looking at different moves, but without understanding which players the clubs looking at, and with how the leaks have tightened up we won’t know the answer to this.
My fear if Lampard is not backed this window with players quickly and with the quality he needs, is that this will impact on him staying at the club longer term as he will lose trust in King to back him when the chips are down.
Is it true he got caught out with an over sized carry on bag on the way in? Caused a right scene I heardWas due to go 1730, but hadn't turned up when I left.

Would 100% go after james the rest i would leave at those price tags as nothing is guaranteed yet. Think we could get james for alot cheaper than 10 I've read Leicester have an option at 4mil so we could go 5 surely! This is only fun and not serious, although I wish it was.

If Esse is to happen it probably won't be until Senegal are finished with AFCON and Sarr returns to them, so there's every chance that wouldn't be until after the Leicester game by the looks of it.
Of other names mentioned I get the impression that Manneh is not happening. I don't want O'Nein simply because I don't think he's very good, and I don't see where he would fit in. He surely wouldn't displace Thomas or Kitching, or be ahead of Woolfenden either. I'm not over keen on Dan Neill either but if we have to sign a Sunderland player I would rather it be him.
I understand the Huddersfield manager has said Castledine is remaining with them for the rest of the season too, so we can probably discount him joining us.
Who did you watch yesterday? You quoted a post mentioning about 16 players…I watched him yesterday. Neat and tidy on the ball but not very athletic snd his work rate was low.

Moron. It’s Doug trying to cheap out. It’s always Doug trying to cheap out when it comes to the team.
