Feel too much focus on other teams not ourselves ,course.it may transpire that there are three teams worse than us.but it doesn't currently feel that way .

Why? You're just not looking at the results of other teams around us if you think that.

Rotherham have just lost six in a row, Huddersfield have won 2 in 15 games, Wycombe are all but down, Sheffield Wednesday have won one of the last 6 games and it's likely Birmingham are going to struggle given the difficulty of their run-in between now and the end of the season.

We're certainly in a precarious position but as it stands it's very much in our hands.

Derby (H) - L
Rotherham (A) - D
Luton (A) - D
Wycombe (H) - W
QPR (A) - L
Bristol City (H) - D
Bournemouth (A) - L
Barnsley (H) - D
Stoke (A) - D
Preston (H) - W
Huddersfield (A) - D
Millwall (H) - W

3 wins. 6 Draws. 15 points more, would give us 50. Probably just about enough?
12 wins and we are going up

Damn difficult to predict but I tend to end up with us on something between 46 and 50 points by the end of the season....which is cutting it pretty fine based on previous seasons.

We have only won 3 in 15 games.

The frustrating thing is that we could have almost been safe now if it wasn't for such fine margins. Our points return is absolutely shocking and we need to be looking at ourselves, not other teams I feel.

This is exactly what happened in January, where everyone seems to think the teams below us are all reincarnations of Pep's Barcelona & we need to go on some crazy run of form to stay up. We don't.

By whatever measure of form you want to look at (3 games, 6 games, 10 games) Sheffield Wednesday & Rotherham are in worse form than us & most measures would also put Birmingham & Huddersfield below us too.

We just need to match what they do which given the runs of fixtures they have seems doable.

How is your view one of a realist when it's completely irrational. We've just come out of the other end of arguably the most difficult pack of games in our season. We're still out of the relegation zone and showed that we don't look out of place against some of the divisions better teams.

What results did you expect in that run of fixtures?

Brush yourself off and look to Saturday. We're nowhere near out of this yet.

We have 9 points in our last 12 games and are averaging a win every 5 it’s hardky unrealistic

Wednesday and Rotherham are better than us over the last 10 games

Fair enough, but they have tailed off hugely since plus the further out you go you're then including Birmingham & Huddersfield who, but for one crazy result against Swansea, would already be below us.

Whilst our form is by no means good, others are worse & they're already below us with tough run ins.

Looking at that ive concluded there was an extra 6 points in games there that we just pissed away

Watford - We had 5 clear cut chances couldnt bury 1, so extra 2 points
Birmingham - We put them to the sword first half but for some reason Robins buckled and made defensive changes - extra 2 points
Forest - No way on earth should that performace have ended in a defeat. We should have at least come out of that with a point, but again, mistakes and questionable subs. 1/2 points

Weve been our own worst enemys. imagine them extra 5/6 points now.

We would only need 3 more wins and a draw ffs. Boils my pis show naive both the team and Robins can be

Trying not to think about, have to say we're looking fragile and a beaten side even scoring first and think Robins will go on another rebuilding job as think he will see the fragility and weak mentality of the squad in general.

I still think we’ll just about stay up but if we go down we’ve only got ourselves to blame as we’ve chucked away far too many points.

We have won 1 in the last 9 games.

We have the worst PPG in the last 8 games out of the bottom 9 teams including all of those.

3 points Saturday and a couple of good results and it all looks different again, but we have to get the three points, if we play in the same style as we did against Brentford then we will beat them if we ply in a slow way like last night we are in trouble

You've intentionally picked 9 games of course as it portrays us in the worst light & includes what we all acknowledge to have been the toughest run of fixtures all season.

If you'd done 10 or 12 the picture is completely different.

Those last 8 games you refer to:
Middlesbrough, Blackburn, Swansea, Brentford, Norwich, Cardiff, Watford, Forest.

Have those other bottom teams had similarly tough runs?
Or are we still 6pts above the bottom 3 who now have much tougher run ins?

We need mayhem at the sheff weds v Rotherham game tonight sendings off and injuries will be greatly appreciated

We just need to focus on ourselves for the next 4 games. Go out with the aim of amassing 7points (minimum). If we manage that the rest will take care of itself.
Like everyone else I will be looking at Blues, Wednesday, Rotherham etc but if we get points it really doesn’t matter what they do.

We really need a win this weekend - no playing for a draw.
If Rotherham and Wednesday draw tonight, a draw for us Saturday isn't the worst result... Maybe I'm hoping that they will draw too much tbh

I'm Not saying we will play for a draw anyway... We just don't have the quality to score many so it's often an inevitability

The only issue we have is confidence. Robin's job is to point out the tough run we have had without the best players available and therefore it's natural to conclude we will get better. Players need to believe that. A couple of goals in the next fixture or a squeeky win is all it takes for that confidence to come back. I saw a few heads drop and disappointment from the players after Middlesborough. That must be addressed and put decisivley behind us pronto. A change in tatics and formation will freshen things up and making sure there is a starting berth for James and Kelly, Hamer and O'Hare will grow the confidence. We have been too light in midfield. Take Max out, one up top and add Allen to the mix. Then we have the ability to play through, O'Hare flicks and short passes, and hamer adding to the threat seems better than Max and Walker isolated and our midfield unable to cope 90 minutes. When one tires Sheaf can come in or even eccles. Dabo needs to get up to speed quickly...extra training for him. McCallum needs to remember the team that has given him everything and we need his best for 12 games. Ostigarrd is one of the first on the team sheet. Godden will contribute as soon as Walker has faded, then become a starter.
Yep we will be fine. :)

You're right we shouldn't be pragmatic about our current plight should we. Perhaps instead we should take your lead and all simultaneously wet the bed following a defeat?

We do look garbage though lets be fair.

The confidence has seeped out of us.

We cant defend and cant score, its not a recipe to be bouncing around the forum thinking its all champagne and blowjobs is it?

We do, but some of the posts on this forum were a bit embarrassing last night.

Losing against Middlesbrough isn't a sign of the end. However, looking at the tone and language of posts last night you'd think we were already relegated, despite there being a 1/4 of the season left - in which time anything can happen.

Our defensive abilities and lack of end product have been a issue all season. Not sure why this narrative is being pushed to the max now.

For me i think we need to dominate the midfield again.

The wing backs haven't attacked for weeks so the 3 at the back doesn't work

I would go 4 2 3 1:-

Marosi

Dabo Ostigard Rose McCallum

Kelly James

Hamer O'Hare Allen

Walker

Subs
Wilson
Fadz
Hyam
Shipley
Sheaf
Godden
Max
